Do we ever have enough of uplifting breakbeat? The type that overloads on hope and outpouring happiness? 
Based in Porto, Portugal, Rave Child is off to an exciting start with the new label and event series, Kokölò. True “to move forward” meaning behind its name, the label ethos focuses on a specific mood or state of freedom rather than a particular genre. 

In the inaugural ‘The Birth’ EP,  no-face-entity Rave Child captured that feeling of a soul discovering the dancefloor for the first time with all its naivety and joy. United in the use of breaks, and chopped voices meld with dreamy melodies, each track on the three-track EP takes on the unique, nostalgia permeated sonic gradient. Mastering by Vril and Andreas Lubich, aka Loop-o, make this package easy not to miss. 

Feel like a kid again on properly induced euphoria aka the album’s opener ‘It never was.’ Daydreaming at the heart of playful lights and colors, beaming to a point of galvanized innocence, getting loose in some utopian infinity; this track lifts spirits and launches moves like nobody watches. Do we ever want to have enough of it?

PREMIERE: Rave Child - It Never Was [Kokölò]

All You Can Beat

Three artists riding high off career-peak years combining for some darkly alluring techno? Yes please. Well, Clockwork and Avatism’s pairing isn’t strictly new, but they’ve been picking up a considerable head of steam under the CW/A moniker in recent months – including a booking at perhaps the last Fabric NYE of the pre-sniffer, pre-breathalyser era – and this release is their largest statement to date.  

We could have plumped for a typically unblinking edit from Lucy, but pulled Ilian Tape don Dario Zenker’s remix out the bag instead. He flattens the landscape of the title track, shelling claps down like pintacks to keep the pace choppy and brisk. It’s a good’un, and it sees release on Parachute Records next month.

Luke Slater (aka LB Dub Corporation, Planetary Assault Systems, Krispy Krouton, Lloyd Owes Me A Packet, Deputy Dawg and Earnest Honest, amongst others) is back with a very special double remix EP of Josh Wink's "Denial". Luke splits up his multiple personalities with two reworks coming in from his better known aliases, LB Dub Corporation and Planetary Assault Systems.

Three years of silence since LB's Unknown Origin album on Ostgut Ton have now been broken with his relentless 8.5 minute spin on "Denial". Stark in contrast to Planetary's heavily mechanical take which opens the release, the "LB Dub Corporation Mix" is set apart by its analogue loops and undulating groove. Mr. Slater shows off his schizophrenic talent(s) with this remix EP of forward-thinking, floor-focused machine music – providing a heavy remix package that needn't include any more artists to cause an absolute ruckus. A warmly welcomed return to one of techno's seasoned pros.
