Do we ever have enough of uplifting breakbeat? The type that overloads on hope and outpouring happiness? 
Based in Porto, Portugal, Rave Child is off to an exciting start with the new label and event series, Kokölò. True “to move forward” meaning behind its name, the label ethos focuses on a specific mood or state of freedom rather than a particular genre. 

In the inaugural ‘The Birth’ EP,  no-face-entity Rave Child captured that feeling of a soul discovering the dancefloor for the first time with all its naivety and joy. United in the use of breaks, and chopped voices meld with dreamy melodies, each track on the three-track EP takes on the unique, nostalgia permeated sonic gradient. Mastering by Vril and Andreas Lubich, aka Loop-o, make this package easy not to miss. 

Feel like a kid again on properly induced euphoria aka the album’s opener ‘It never was.’ Daydreaming at the heart of playful lights and colors, beaming to a point of galvanized innocence, getting loose in some utopian infinity; this track lifts spirits and launches moves like nobody watches. Do we ever want to have enough of it?

After releasing their first two releases on one disc, the third release on Amsterdam imprint Working Titles is a release on its own. Label founders Scott Franka & Kaap are behind the label’s third release that features two epic tracks from the Dutch pair and again finds them exploring new and exciting techno territory with their lively machine jams. 

First track 'Poise I' is a deep and dubbed out techno track with deft synths slowly shapeshifting and bringing sombreness to the quickened groove. It’s late night music to zone you out with sparse but rich detailing to keep your mind occupied and it gets ever-busier over the course of thirteen enthralling minutes. Then 'Poise II' is a 16 minute masterpiece that is watery and dubby. It has undulating synth currents and increasingly textured snares. Building to a peak then pulling back, with occasional freaky vocal sounds and sci-fi motifs, it is a truly cinematic piece that closes out an ambitious EP.

Long time collaborators Alexander Berg and Nils Krogh - best known as Genius Of Time - team up for the first time under their respective own monikers. 

While their previous collaborations were mostly focused on house music, this solid two-tracker EP showcases the contemporary Göteborg-native techno vibe: combining successfully Dorisburg's heavy basslines with Arkajo's efficient rhythmics. Add the guys' unique pads and textures, and you'll obtain this playful yet profound release that balances perfectly between tribal and spacy sounds - a way to make a connection between ground and sky, some might say.
