This track is the 11th and last movement of the upcoming theatrical album dubbed "A Place Glowing a Brilliant Red" about a future human society on Mars.

Storyboard of this tune is as follows:
A Martian ship in the future is exploring Earth (these Martians actually descend from Earthlings but are unaware of their ancestors) . As they come close to Earth with their spaceship they send data and other messages back to Mars. 

Soon they realise Earth's orbit is full of artificial garbage and they are hit by one of the metal objects stuck in a practically infinite orbit. They fall and burn up in Earth's atmosphere. They say their last goodbye to Mars whilst realising this is actually where they come from, therefore they are ashes and dust.

For those interested, a strong reference for the album is Jared Diamond's book Collapse and Robert Zubrin's dreamy idea of a Terraformed Mars.

The soloists are Andrew Linham on Clarinet and Sam Warner on Trumpet.

Mimika MME is a multicultural London based modern jazz orchestra. It has been described as a mixture of Sun Ra, Balkan music, theatre, Duke Ellington and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Their lead vocal has been dubbed the "Croatian Flora Purim" and one of the reviews called their musical style "Balkan Space Jazz".

Mimika played on the London Jazz Festival 2012, the Olympic Festivals, and regularly gigs on London's underground and overground scenes.

Medium” arrives as the first non-studio based production by emptyset, recorded on location in the remote Woodchester Mansion in Gloucestershire UK. The collection of tracks explores the duo’s preoccupations with the elemental properties of sound and bare rhythmic structures and overlays it onto the textural possibilities
of space and material. The project marks their first act of adapting their analogue
based studio system into an architectural intervention, pushing extreme bass and
feedback into the irregular spaces of the unfinished building. The rural mansion, which remains an incomplete remnant of the gothic revival and a place studied by
both architectural researchers and psychic investigators, provides a rich source of
texture as the sparse palette of sine waves and noise is adorned with the intricate details of the space. Medium emerges as an act of translation remodeling the
house through sonic impulses into a state of audio, a fluid transformative gesture
and a process mirroring the sonar impulses of the bats residing within
Woodchester's rooftop sanctuary.


￼￼The project, supported by the Woodchester Mansion Trust, was provided technical support by the renowned Bristol based sound engineer Mat Sampson who managed the array of vintage microphones and preamps distributed within the building along with the central monophonic sound system.

“Medium” will be released March 19th, 2012 on Subtext Recordings based at Multiverse in Bristol. It follows on from emptyset's second LP Demiurge, Roly Porter's landmark Aftertime album and a live recording by Paul Jebanasam.

The first release from Sweden's Random Island recordings offers three tracks of pure-bred techno from label owner Inter Gritty. Nihad Tule provides a stunning remix that turns the raw, Chicago-esque pounding of Kiska into a dramatic, flowing techno builder. And finally, Huemul drops the pace and sets off to explore the deeper side of techno, drenched in drones, chords and deep bass.
