Xosar operates on a different plane to the rest of us. The US-born, Berlin-based artist has drifted beautifully through different strands of house and techno for labels such as Rush Hour, L.I.E.S., Crème Organization and Black Opal, and last year started her own label Gyrocore. While earlier iterations of her sound included the irreverent jack of Pacific House (recorded with Legowelt as Trackman Lafonte & Bonquiqui) and the stargazing Tropical Cruise and The Calling, her recent work takes a darker turn. This is most keenly felt on Immured, her 12" for Valcrond Video, which saw her focus her attention between gnarly dungeon techno and eerie horror soundtrack mode. Her albums Psychick Justice and Holographic Matrix, given away for free on her Bandcamp, continued this trend, with the former released just in time for Halloween in 2014. Show Yourself, the first release on Gyrocore, fused outsider fuzz with industrial shred, a cavernous trip into techno's blackest recesses. The mix she's done for us is in that vein, thoroughly dank and murky, at times challenging and even outright scary. Stick with it, though; you'll come out the other side refreshed, reborn.

2000 and One's Best Of Series Vol. 19 (Deep) Techno Pt. II

Had such a blast playing an extended DJ set in San Francisco last weekend, great to catch up with old friends and meet a few new faces . I managed to record half of the set. This section was recorded roughly 4-5.45 am. I didn’t get any footage during my set however managed to get this shot walking back from the club at around 6.30am. I’ve always enjoyed the sense of calm the early hours bring to a big city.

Arsonist Recorder from Antwerp, Belgium has been releasing and performing music of many different kinds over the past decades. A founding member and dj of aLOSTaSOULS, and has been active as a producer for many other projects. Since 2018 he runs the ZwaarteKracht record label, focussing on his old love for breakbeat-electro. 

Next to a steady output of tracks on each of the ZwaarteKracht 12” ep’s and a past EP on aLOSTaSOULS, he also releases music on UK label Specimen Records, with a first solo EP entitled “Vaxxer” coming out soon on that same label.

Arsonist Recorder plays out both as a dj and with a brand-new live-set.

PARALLEL VOYAGER #027 - Arsonist Recorder

Colombian producer, Faunes Efe, stands behind a slew of prolific albums and EP’s released under the Filmmaker project, quickly building a cult following amongst those with an affinity for dystopian electronics steeped in an alluring, seductive darkness. From earlier self-released works such as ‘Visceral’, a 10-track full length work modestly described in Efe’s own words as the “First occult-orientated soundtrack from an experimental lost film”, to the 808-shots of ‘Nocturnal’ and later with the grainy, low-fi electro of ‘Wetwork’. Each successive release proves Efe’s capacity to execute productions of magnitude across the electronic spectrum, yielding body moving music from a small arsenal of honed hardware.

Filmmaker’s material derives from an unadulterated exploration of the sonic realms, utilising multiple formats and artistic mediums; documented through a series of original cover artworks and short films created by Efe. In the space of a year since its inception, Efe began touring as a live artist under the Filmmaker project, from his home-base in Medellin, to clubs and spaces throughout the Americas and Europe. 2019 became a defining period for Efe’s musical trajectory, with the release of the acclaimed ‘The Love Market’ LP on Berlin-based Detriti Records and later landing on esteemed UK label, Opal Tapes with his 6-track ‘Unregulated’ EP, followed by the 7-track dark wave masterclass ‘Noir Times’ EP on Valencia-based, HC Records.

@lukr-range is a Berlin-based DJ and producer. She grew up and developed in the Berlin nightlife scene and started to perform as a DJ in clubs such as :// about blank, Arena and Suicide Circus in 2017, dominating the floors with raw and aggressive techno beats. Her sets are always energetic and characterised by fast drums, punching kicks, metallic snares and jumping bass lines, creating a fluent, dark, hypnotic and deep journey through music. Besides DJ-ing she is also known for the work with @sonderberlin colective, her very own productions and the residency at the @eclectiqueberlin events. The mix that Lukr Range has recorded for us is way different than her usual style so check it out!
