Following up the chunky slab of festival fuel was Huxley’s ‘The Machine’ EP, the next installment sees the return of long-term label affiliates Komon & Appleblim for their second collaborative release on Aus - ‘Motion Blur’.

Keiran Lomax and Laurence Osbourne have managed to keep their distinctly smoky stamp branded on remixes for the likes of Bonobo and Paul Woolford and on their original productions for both Aus and Appleblim’s ‘Apple Pips’ imprint. In Motion Blur, the pair expand on their canon and turn in four introspective explorations rich with granular textures and propulsive low-end grooves.  

The title track blooms behind sandy hats and glistening pads as it builds towards a loose-limbed swing built with broken beat structures. Bolstered by rock-heavy subs, ‘Key Vision’ drives more stuttering kick patterns under spectral sweeps and vocal chops while ‘Echoes Retreat’ rubs resonant bass tones up against sharp, floor-ready synth stabs.

Set to a steady 4/4 march, ‘Astir’ brings things to a deep and downcast close as sweeping minor tones bring colour to the snapping percussive whacks that round-off another Aus accomplishment that’s as effective on the floor as it is through the cans.”

For the second year in a row, Vief Records is raising funds for Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Voted for by those involved in the project, Palestine Solidarity Campaign is a community of people working together for peace, equality, and justice. Together, they are the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights.

Their crucial work involves placing pressure on the British Government, which despite a change in ruling party last year, has made no material effort to end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. We still sell arms to Israel, both directly and indirectly, whilst also supporting its military with intelligence and training - the latter shockingly taking place on British shores.

Let’s be clear. Any minor concessions, like recognising the State of Palestine earlier in September, would not have taken place without the tireless efforts of groups like Palestine Solidarity Campaign. And as public opinion against Israel and its actions continues to grow, continued campaigning remains vitally important.

Vief’s compilation comprises 15 tracks from artists based across five continents, containing the very best the world of leftfield techno has to offer.

We're back again with our buddies @toytonics and next up on the roster is Frenchman @mangabey-1 with his wobbly synth funk track 'Purple Gutter'. As you'd expect with a TT release the beats are tight, deep and full to the brim with groove. The synths are rich, funky & have just the right amount of modulation. Analog Italian House maestro Deep88 has contributed a straight up deep house belter for Soul Clap Records 'Italo Funk' compilation. The choice cut for us here, the production on this track is so warm it's silly. Combine the classic Latley Bass patch & the gritty SP1200 drum machine alongside some heavenly pads and FM melodies and you have a recipe for perfection really.
