Like shadows cast by floodlights on concrete walls, these tracks echo into space. Each piece is a diary in dub techno rhythm: where the bass doesn’t just play — it breathes. Where echo knows more than the voice. Where time flows in reverse — through Delay, through Reverb, through Memory.

From the very first track, it’s clear that Abby Echiverri’s debut, the “Ab Initio” EP is something different and rare: a polished and fresh interpretation of electronic music that incorporates classic electro squelches with intricate broken beats and expansive synthesizer zone-outs. Although this is her first EP, Abby has extensive history as a musician, sound engineer, DJ and VJ. Her current trajectory started early in childhood when she was classically trained in violin, flute, piano and vocals, cementing music as a part of her daily life. In high school she picked up turntables and began collecting records, eventually moving to NYC to study recording engineering and perform in post-punk bands, and became a regular at Wierd and The Bunker at a very young age. Since then, Echiverri has devoted her professional hours to engineering, maintaining, and manufacturing audio equipment for studios and clubs around the world. 

This record’s name “Ab Initio” means “from the beginning” or “from first principles”, invoking a propulsive leap into the future and also perhaps including an element of the eponymous. When we asked her to tell us more about the process of creating these hardware-based jams, Abby explained: “It all stems from my own experiences on the dancefloor and wanting to recreate that for other people. I want to make music that rewires the brain: music that is challenging, yet groovy... repetitive, yet evolving. An aural psychedelic. It's a lofty goal - I'm still working on it.” If Ab Initio is one of her first steps towards that goal then we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Abby Echiverri - Nadezhda

Oscillate Tracks 003 is the first split EP featuring resident Johanna Knutsson and alumni Karen Gwyer. The two performed together early last year, Karen live with her shimmering textures before Johanna introduced her bleepy tales. Their musical affinity was easily recognisable and our aim was to bring their dynamic connection from one fleeting experience onto the enduring form of a record. 

On Johanna’s side, the Swedish producer plays with tempo and panning, constructing vast soundscapes on the backdrop of a dubbed-out alternating bass drum with refrains from her Nord synth rippling throughout. On the flip we find Karen exploring melancholic ambient IDM, layering sparkling notes over lush melodies interlaced with rapid percussions, forming utterly exquisite works of art.

"Nuit Rouge" is the A1 of the last Kizi Garden Records V.A. which features only electronic artists from Montreal. 

The French born, Montreal based artist, is an eclectic blend of influences that can only be described as "Tender Violence". Her sound demonstrates the fundamentals of techno - strong driven drums with face-melting acid basslines - while touching through elements of EBM, New-Wave & Trance. In tandem with her love of visual arts, Inside Blur creates evocative and pictorial sound bringing to life a mental explosion of colours.  
Set to release her very first EP on a french techno label early this year, she's working on the next one along with other side projects.
