Jesse Rose feat. Seven Davis Jr - It's Not Over (Synthapella)[Taken from FABRICLIVE 85]

Following on from a solid two-year-run of releases, Berlinite Max Graef rounds of 2015 by embarking on his latest undertaking: The Max Graef Band. The project consists of five guys jamming together on the Dog LP, forthcoming on Graef's own Money $ex imprint. This takes form as his second fuller-length release, after the unparalleled Rivers of the Red Planet album he presented on Tartelet last year.

Dog now sees Graef working in the realm of live instrumentation, but using much of the same musical inspiration found in his former, more digitally inclined productions. All eight tracks are imbued with a free-wheeling emphasis on jazz, funk and soul – uniting the work as a whole rather than singular-functioning songs. It was, therefore, a difficult task to single out a favourite. "Die Elektrische/Der Weisse Vogel Part II" earns its stripes as possibly the most wholehearted "jam" of the bunch. The funk dominates heavily, with the use of the Rhodes piano, Clav, live bass and plenty of bubbling "out-of-this-orbit" sound FX. Packed with floor-shaking energy from start to finish.

Hot on the heels of the widely adored ‘Little Drummer Girl’ EP, another killer dose of Tiger Fingers is here. The much-anticipated eponymous debut album is finally with us – a special edition release of six unique tracks, along with a handful of fantastic bonus remixes of the Little Drummer Girl single.

Tiger Fingers are Jordan Lieb and Asako Fujimoto, a collaboration that started as an offshoot of their previous incarnation - the aggressive electro-rock band Dead Radar. Tiger Fingers was an outlet for their more dancefloor-friendly, pop inspired side to their sound – and yielded a set of six tracks that remained unreleased – until now. Having amicably split to focus on other projects this could be the only Tiger Fingers we’ll be hearing – which could be a tragedy for fans of exciting, funky, inventive pop music. 

The six distinct tracks each contain more ideas than most long players. Packed full of joyful hooks, slick beats and bubbling synths, this release is sure to delight dancefloors and the airwaves equally. The interplay of call and response vocals between Asako and Jordan are clearly the work of a duo that knows how to get the best from each other. 

The tracks are diverse in style, yet perfectly complementary - ‘Small Talk’s’ futuristic electroid bounce is a slice of pop perfection, ‘Set Up’ is charged full of driving, punchy energy, while ‘Say It To Me’s’ potent narco-disco is a thing to behold. ‘Hot Kettle’ keeps things on the boil with fat, crisp beats, while the brooding epic ‘Dogs of Jesus’ finds a dark groove and produces perhaps Asako’s most atmospheric performance. 

The lead single ‘Little Drummer Girl’ is also here in all its glory - beats and thunderous synth riffs combine with speak ‘n’ spell samples to produce a mesmerizing brand of 22nd century electro pop. What’s more, an instrumental and three other essential mixes are also included  - Texan William Rauscher provides two mixes under his Night Plane alter ego, while Hotflush man-of-the-moment Jimmy Edgar uses the original as a springboard to construct a slamming electro-boogie-space-jam. 

These recordings came to the attention of hfn music's A&R Tobias Lampe after Tiger Fingers went their separate ways – now finally about to get the release they deserve. The members continue to make music - Brooklyn native Jordan has since established himself as a celebrated producer and composer, winning a Daytime Emmy Award for his work in television and film. Hotly tipped by respected tastemakers as varied as Andrew Weatherall, DJ T. and Appleblim, Jordan (under his Black Light Smoke moniker), has emerged as one of the most exciting new voices in the North American electronic music scene. Asako continues to lend her amazing voice to various projects, and is based in Paris, where she is working on her solo project, Cosmic Berry.

ich schiebe es ganz einfach mal auf die wenige Freizeit die mir in letzter zeit zur 
Verfügung stand!!
Dafür habe ich ihn für euch mit Überlänge gestaltet und hoffe die lange Wartezeit
etwas weg gemacht zu haben :-)!!
Die Beschreibung des Sets ist eigentlich ganz einfach, ich habe jeden einzelnen Track in mein 
Herz geschloßen und somit müssen auch sie in euer Herz getragen werden ;-)
Ansonsten habe ich es ein wenig gemischt gestaltet, viele Emotionale wie auch flottere parts
aber auch ein paar bekannte stücke sind zu hören!!
Wie immer hoffe ich ,das es einfach anklang in euren Gehörgängen findet und ihr Spaß
dran habt ;-)!!!

So when we began remixing it, we honestly didn’t exactly know where we wanted to go with this track at first, but as soon as we got started it just poured out with this very solom melody, that doesn’t betray the song and its sex but give it this mellow added bounce, it was a perfect double up…"
