It's not music for faint hearted, or music aimed at infiltrating popular playlists, this is music for the those who truly appreciate the finest aspects of these incredible genres themselves and at every point "To Have & Have Not" from start to finish keeps it's roots set firmly in the music’s underground foundation.

The album delivers with an unfaltering intent and truly demonstrates Jubei’s incredible versatility with tracks that traverse & transcend from one corner of the music to the next with an almost effortless and misleading ease.

Each composition is within its own right a standout highlight. The track list includes a ridiculous amount of jaw-dropping collaborative talent. Credits for example see Jubei once again call on the vocal prowess of Flowdan for the LP’s massive follow up to past release "Say Nothing" entitled "The Moment". "State of the Art" flips the script at 170+ with SP:MC on vocal duties. Further co production credits on the album bring Jubei together the forces of Goldie, D-Bridge & Youngsta just to name a few.

Albums like this don’t come along every day and whilst some artists now imitate with sights set firmly on commercial success only a select few can originate whilst continuing to cross boundaries so consistently.

Pinch & Mumdance "Big Slug (feat. Riko Dan)"  – Boiler Room Debuts

Of all the people playing fast and loose with house rhythms recently - and there are a lot - Eric Douglas Porter aka  Afrikan Sciences is one of the most consistent and interesting, for his ability to fuse extraordinarily sophisticated jazz licks with disquietingly raw - bordering on the industrial - electronic work. Now, he's teamd up with Ari - a relatively unknown compadre of  Tama Sumo and  Uzuri boss  Lakuti - for some loose and lovely action, including this abstract but irresistible groove.

They may only be about to drop their second release but  Organic Analogue  are already a label to be reckoned with. When your first release comes with a Heinrich Mueller remix, your releases come on stunningly-designed heavyweight clear vinyl, your website has a moving starscape, and you release tracks like this one  from Tblisi, Georgia , you basically have our attention. OA002 features four tracks plus a remix by  The Reflektor aka Gifted & Blessed , but this is our pick - a cosmic bubblebath of undulating tones and gliding rhythm that we defy you to resist.

HVL "Cygnus Loop" - Boiler Room Debuts

Max Graef's still unfuckwithable 2014 debut    Rivers of the Red Planet  was the site of various pleasures. It had smoked-out soul by the blunt-load. It juggled boom-bap with neo-soul and rubbed together dusty jazz with the heft of house. It was the kind of statement record where a young producer was able to lay out his aesthetic touchstones and play them off each other in casual synthesis. It was also where we had the pleasure of meeting Nigerian-born vocalist extrordinaire Wayne Snow – an androgynous, mellifluous falsetto that wound perfectly into Max's half-time haze.    

After expanding album standout 'Running' into a fully-fleshed EP, the pair continue the chemistry with 'Rosie' – a new five-tracker coming out via Copenhagen label and shared home Tartelet Records. We're glad to say the same magic's still there in spades – the thick thud of Graef's signature kick, the warbling warm basslines and ever the star of the show, Wayne's tenderly acrobatic vocal lines.

Normally, the term "sleazy" is something we try to have nothing to do with at Data Transmission (there's enough greasy-haired pick up "artists" in the world already thanks); however, when that word is applied to dance music, it takes on a meaning and a sound we simply can't resist.

Pushing a particularly sleazy aspect of house, is London newcomer Pistol Pete. Already creating quite a commotion through his 'Hey Papi' collaboration with De$ignated for Pilot Records, Pete has secured festival spots and even hit the studio with UK house star, Applebottom. 

For his second offering, Pete is in collab-mode once again, this time with fellow Londoner, Majesty. With an lively beat and that trademark "sleazy" low-end, the duo's track 'They Seem' has already been tearing up festivals all summer, showcasing Pete's talent ahead of his debut release, 50 Shades Of Pistol, in a few weeks time.
