Taken from "Numero Deux". Originally released in 2001 on Schema’s sister label Milano 2000 (Europe) and Chicago cult label Guidance Recordings (U.S.A. and Japan), the album is considered a classic in Trip-Hop history and got international acclaim by taste makers like Thievery Corporation, Zero 7 and Four Tet, which remixed “Così ti Amo”.

Jazz and funk textures, dreamy keyboard melodies, Balearic guitar vibes and sultry female vocals create an engaging montage of sublime Mediterranean flavored Trip-Hop soundscapes.

Imagine DJ Shadow and Ennio Morricone scoring the soundtrack of a Jean Luc Godard film and you’ll get the picture!

The album has been remastered and features two previously unreleased tracks and new liner notes by Emanuele Sacchi (Rumore magazine / Hong Kong Express)

Belgium's Billie Holiday” remixed by a Japanese band in a style that has more than a hint of Brazil? Yes, that's right, we're deep into Gilles Peterson's world here. This beautiful and tripped-out percussive groover is the first taste of a new Melanie de Biasio remix compilation compiled by Peterson out in February which features a killer lineup of remixers including Jonwayne, Clap! Clap!, Seven Davis Jr, plus Gilles himself in a studio team-up with Simbad. If this blend of de Biasio's velvet voice and Toshio Matsuura's enveloping production is anything to go by it's going to be a killer.

It's no secret that we're big fans of Henrik Schwarz explorations into the classical realm, what with bringing you his Trialogue last year.

When news of an album on Sony Classical, we were obvously keen to hear it. Titled 'Instruments' the LP' main focus is on, you guessed it, the instruments themselves. "​I wanted to see whether this music still means anything when you take away all the synthetic sounds and the beats."​ An interesting approach, considering the more formal and tested approach electronic musicians take when presented with an orchestra.
