cory arcane found her comfort zone in a constant state of crisis, and her liberation through love, sensuality, and high-speed internet access.
as some might recall, she used to struggle with her own decay, navigating an intricate web of bureaucracy, endless social-media scrolling, 24-hour news channel feeds and marketed strategies of seduction.
her intense and continuous obsession for surf, breakdancing and cat videos might have saved her from a silent decline, but it would be her first attempts at integrating a professional ballet company that provided the initial spark. her unorthodox dance movements were often considered shocking, transgressive, and barely legal; and even though some recognised her genuine talent, it was clear she would never make it into this structure. this is when she started her slow drift towards the outer limits of society, in search of the way to achieve the conditions for absolute freedom.
her emancipation was surely marked by different forms of excess: the inappropriate use of fireworks, the consumption of large quantities of alcohol and controlled substances, as well as the occasional blasts of kitchen appliances.
she bypassed the gender war and became an expert in advertising sabotage. soon cory would give academic courses on the true liberation of the mind, or, in her own words, the apotheosis of senses.
lately, she could be seen squatting in the outskirts of different giant metropolises, embracing the mayhem, contemplating the crumbling of a system. the sound of the city, mixed with the music on her headphones, would weave complex rhythms and futuristic textures into a beautifully coloured, pixellated surface.
looking out onto this fabulous chaos, she smiled.

Three nights, two gems and a bolt (part one)

Ladies and gentlemen,

Recently, I played three shows in the North America. The shows took place on successive nights and somehow I liked all three gigs and for different reasons. So, I would like to share them with you as a trilogy over the next couple of weeks. 

Also, there is some news that I would like to share with you; starting off with the announcement of my new album that will be released later this summer. A track from my upcoming album can be heard in one of the forthcoming sets I just mentioned, so stay tuned!

But first, let’s get back to #basementmiami where I had the honor to play with my friends Satori, Viken Arman, Goldcap, Eduardo Castillo and Armen Miran.  I hope you will enjoy the music. In the meantime, we are on the way to South Africa where Nico Stojan and I are teaming up with #bridgesformusic.  While we are there we will of course take the chance to also stop by the African Burn!

Three nights, two gems and a bolt (part three)

Ladies and gentlemen, 
due to police intervention and the early shut down of last night's event at Mirage, I was not able to finish my set. :-( poor Bedouins weren't able to play at all )-;

Luckily I have an excerpt of my last New York set at hand, so you can continue your acid experience with this one. It was the third day of a little tour in March that brought me to the #akumandra party at #HouseOfYes. (Thanks to everybody for having made this a very special night)
The set was actually supposed to be released as third part of my trilogy, but, hey, I am happy to trade conceptional purity for spontaneity ;-)


Nothing more to say, but thanks to everybody who came out last night and had to leave earlier than expected and of course thanks a lot to #Cityfox for making it all happen.

Joey Daniel was well known in his native Holland for his classic 300MPH party series at Toffler – an event which saw curated artists as big as Loco Dice but now is making big waves internationally, where he has made appearances at the likes off Awakenings, Time Warp Holland, Mysteryland, Sonus, Welcome To The Future, Pollerwiesen Festival, Extrema Outdoor Belgium, and many more. He's performed at the renowned BPM Festival in Mexico, struck out the lights at Berlin's Watergate, and, after an epic 11 closing set at Sunwaves Festival, picked up as resident by Marco Carola's acclaimed Music On parties at Amnesia - Ibiza. With a long list of achievements, we had the chance to catch a few words from the man himself - covering everything from his upbringing as a DJ to his upcoming performance, where he will be going back to back with Mark Fanciulli, at Social Festival.

It’s a Half-Baked takeover today on our site, and the gifts, they just don’t stop coming. Earlier we spoke to Le Loup, and now we’ve been given the green light to share the first half of Greg Brockmann’s set with you. It departs a little of that Saturday night magic we witnessed over the weekend, replete with a stripped back House sound, where rathchety beats and low-lying bass-lines conspire in a sound that is quite new to us. Brockmann brought the infallible colour of Half-baked to his set, the label and events series’ personal touch seeping through every aspect of the night, through their French resident. It’s the first hour and a half of the night that saw Le Loup and Brockmann go back to back and Brockmann, the Koncept music boss and skilled selector, showcasing some of that deep-digging personality behind the music, and introducing us at Jæger to some exciting new cuts along the way.
