1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

Hey Im Nadim a 22 year old DJ and Beatmaker from Cologne. I started collecting records when I lived in England in 2015 and since then I haven’t stopped spending most of my money for vinyl. I think I have around 1.500 records at the moment in my flat. A lot of my records (especially jazz) also came from my fathers collection who is a jazz musician and my grandmother + her friends collection who are all big jazz fans but didn’t listen to their records anymore.

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

What I love about 7 inches is that the sound is always dope and that I always have them for any set that I play. Whether traveling from Budapest to Berlin and then to Cologne my 7” are always there to back me up!

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

Honestly it was a pretty spontaneous mix haha. I just went after what felt right (which is what i usually do when I dj) and just went with the flow. 

4) Where can people catch you / listen to your music? 

You can follow me on Instagram which is where I post on my stories where I play @nadimbrah ,this usually happens twice a week in bars, clubs or events in Cologne but sometimes I do play in other cities like Berlin or Hamburg (which I definitely want to do more!). I don’t really record dj sets as I play enough in front of people and like I said before really like to try and feel the room and adapt my sound to the vibe that I feel. I did record 3 previous sets @dublab and I’ll try to record more sets in the future.

Oh man this is such a hard question … I could give you a top 5 for every genre but a Top 5 like that Is reaaaaaally difficult. For me it always depends on the mood but Ill try to give 5 albums that I really dig :) (no particular order)

Freakier Zone Mix

Membre du Célèbre duo Kyoto Jazz massive (reprenant d’ailleurs les mots de Gilles Peterson) au côté de son frère, https://soundcloud.com/shuya-okino a largement contribué au rayonnement du Jazz au Japon en étant pionnier du Japanese Club Jazz mais aussi dans le monde en entier. Il est également propriétaire de The Room Club, à Shibuya, un des spots les plus actifs dans la promotion de la musique Club Jazz et Crossover. Côté productions, ce sont "Eclipse/Silent Messenger", le premier single de Kyoto Jazz Massive, puis "Spirit of the Sun" qui ont propulsé le duo en 2002. Mais ce n’est que récemment qu’Okino a sorti son album solo, United Legends accompagné par la crème des artistes internationaux venant du monde entier. Comme tout ce que fait Okino, c’est original et hyper stylé. Quel plaisir que de l’avoir donc à nos côtés pour nous faire voyager...

In Hour 2 we hand over to Rejoicer who released his debut album on Stones Throw, 'Energy Dreams' on 31st August. Rejoicer, a.k.a. Yuvi Havkin, is a musician and producer who splices together funk, hip-hop, breakbeats and jazz rhythms. He's is well-known for helping cultivate Israel’s modern beat movement, and for fostering a community of international artists who contribute to his Tel-Aviv based label, Raw Tapes. He had this to say about his mix;
