Front de Cadeaux was born in Bruxelles when roman Dj Hugo Sanchez met a Italo/Belgian guy called Dj Athome. The first touch was in the middle of a sauna party for big hairy men, hot and wet. Dirty sex and sweat dreams were just the click. They soon discovered that their music universe were created to become one. Both in love with the green psychedelia and both disappointed by the gay clubbing scene where people dance if only the bpm is at a very high and stupid speed level.

After having dirty sex, they spent days listening and sampling vinyls played at the wrong speed, discovering and enjoying the sexy power of the supreme “rallentamento”. Front de Cadeaux, a name that will leave Belgian’s fan of the band Front 242 astonished, confused and upset, started to create their own musical experiments that impressed Hugo Sanchez’s mate Rodion (his brother in the Alien Alien project), who put his poetic and supreme production touch on it.
Fabrizio Mammarella joined us after listening this manifesto called Le Pédé BPM. His energy was exactly what we needed to give you more acid.

We don't care of the BPM phags, we just want a world where the body and music makes love slowly all night long and we will fight a war to make it happen!

A welcome return to some of the pair’s classic studio hardware, ‘Happy 808’ shows off masterful drum programming, coupled with a super-spacey mixdown, that elevates the 808 to new extremes. Using beautifully crafted distortion and reverb spaces, and coupled with a constantly moving arrangement, its hard to put this one down.

​"For people who ask me what I produce, I just say 'electronic music," says intrepid Angeleno producer and recent Boys Noize Records signee PILO. The driving, chunky and abstract techno beats of his Sentimental Schematics EP are an anomaly amongst homegrown talents in Los Angeles, a city in which techno is only now beginning to populate the underground. Perhaps that's why his tunes reached all the way to Hamburg, Germany and the ears of Alex Ridha to get their chance to shine.

It's been a long time in the making. From their early days as label-mates on the legendary Gigolo records, these two dons have remixed each other, DJ'd back-to-back, even worked on the same motion picture together (Ivory Tower), but not until now have they teamed up so completely, or to such devastating effect. On the eve on BNR's 10 year celebrations, where the two will headline a series of 6 shows together, Turbo proudly presents '100.'

Both producers come through clearly: the slamming drums and acid Boys Noize has so thoroughly mastered, the clever vocal hooks, catchy basslines and ravey breakbeat flourishes that are the feathers in Tiga's boa - the best of both artists are brought together here, with a distinct nod to their electro roots. It's an immediate winner, asserting it's sonic prowess through a flawless arrangement, confidently proclaiming it's perfection in a slick, round triple-digit. One-hundred.

The magic, as in Mind Dimension, Let's Go Dancing, or Bugatti, is for packaging true pop into a compact, techno power-punch that leaves underground cred intact. Both Tiga and Boys Noize are outstandingly versatile DJs who consistently yearn for something more than the obvious tropes of EDM, embracing extremes, fitting in the esoteric, being connoisseurs of a multitude of micro-genres of electronic music. 'Jam #1' is an ode to these low-slung techno roots, a stripped-down bonus beat that lays down the law of the drum machine, and sets the stage for the forthcoming '808 IRAQ' pulled from the same Berlin studio-session, soon to be released on BNR.

Mairo Nawaz certainly is that new breed of young, talented and up-and-coming DJ from Amsterdam. Growing up listening to his mother’s reggae and grandmother’s Soul and Jazz music, he started drumming at the age of ten and showed musical talents at an early age. It wasn’t before long or he immersed himself in Hip-Hop and R&B in his teens, but never felt like an old archeologist when he dusted off his family’s old record collections and tried to find a correlation with the modern music of today. He brought this enthusiasm to connect the olden and modern dots with him as a DJ and manages to make everything his own. While his career as a DJ is still in the springtime of its life, his portfolio certainly isn’t, with residencies at Bassline (Paradiso) and BBQ (Bitterzoet), as well as spinning at Appelsap Festival, Lowlands Festival, Mysteryland and playing at Lil’ Wayne’s, Tyler The Creator’s and FKA twigs’ show. Not only that, but Mairo has also travelled abroad and played at Bread & Butter Berlin and the Casa Negra in London as a valuable member of the Patta Soundsystem amongst others like Victor Crezée. With the throngs of young DJ’s trying to find a way out of the maze of obscurity, Mairo has long left them behind and found significance by being studious of the giants that came before him, and endeavoring to be different from the rest around him. @maironawaz

Helena's sound as a DJ can't be nailed down as she cuts between genres with ease. So no tags needed.. She is capable of handling perfectly an audience independently of musical origin.

As a producer this obsessive nature comes across in the intensity of her music. Her debut release 'Actio Reactio' just came out on Actress's Werk discs imprint as well as a collaboration with F#X as 'Black Sites' on PAN.

In 2015 she established her own label "Return To Disorder", a name inspired from a World War I art movement, with two exciting releases and a third one that will follow is from the Moscow Death Disco vs Le Chocolat Noir. The label’s debut from Leicester-based psych-rock band Children Of Leir. Judging by her aesthetics, we should definitely keep an eye on her upcoming moves...

We do like Ptaki a lot here at LYO ; in case you missed it, the duo delivered a delightful blend for our mix serie (and we even had the pleasure to play with one of its member in Manchester few weeks ago). Ptaki take another journey with Transatlantyk imprint to bring you the remixes of their well received debut album. Alongside unreleased dub from the “Przelot” sessions, you’ll find two great reworks here, both by contemporary heroes of the fast rising Polish house scene ; Eltron John and Das Komplex.
The real gem here is Eltron’s 10 minute version of “Sloneczny Pyl”, taking a whole A Side for a reason. It’s a straight up peaktime house banger destined for a summerjam status. Catchy female vocal loop from the ambient original is surrounded here by massive warm bassline running on a dubwise tip, layered tribal drums and percussions, and a few cisterns of raw, oily effects, guitar licks and pouring keyboard pads. And that enormous breakdown too... Eltron’s trademark “big room deep” vibe mixed with Ptaki’s slice of sampled psychedelia created a track that’s already a road-tested crowd favourite ! Samuel Kerridge is one of the most striking techno producers around. Offering up a wall of noise and rhythm, texture and experiential electronics, he stands alone and really doesn’t care what anybody thinks. This attitude allows him to push borders and explore new ground on labels like Downwards, Contort and Blueprint. There Berlin based Brit is as exceptional in the DJ booth ask he is the studio and live arena, and his output remains as vivid and vital as ever six years after his spellbinding debut. 

This mix is arresting from the off. It’s a blizzard of overdriven drums and frazzled synth lines that are impossibly restless and raw. Even the moments of relative emptiness and calm are pregnant with tension and menace before things race off once more and leave you gassing for breath. It’s an impressively exhilarating ride that balances light with dark and calm with chaos in just the right proportions so as to never let up and never let you go.
