Considered as ''the romanian Detroit electro / techno pioneer'' (Igloo Magazine), he is signed to some legendary labels from Detroit such as Matrix Records, Twilight 76 Records, Databass Records, Detroit Techno Militia, Detroit Underground, Cratesavers International, Visillusion, Detroit Techno Records, 6ONE6 as well as Holland's iconic MOS Recordings. Also Melodymathics, Bass Agenda Recordings, Remote Influence, Land Of Dance. He remixed Detroit's Santonio Echols, Thomas Barnett, Six Foe, T.Linder of Detroit Techno Militia, DJ Spade Tha Specialist etc. His music, sometimes compared to Detroit, fuses the soul of his town Iasi with the futuristic electro, techno, acid sound, being characterized, by a free, no compromise exploration of electronic music.

Set to build on Afterlife’s mesmerizing club concept that’s striking visual and musical identity has so far showcased at Off Sonar, ADE and Ibiza for a 13-week residency at Space, brand curator’s Tale Of Us have now added an extra dimension to its forward-thinking offering with a podcast series named ‘Afterlife Voyage’. 

Launching with a rare 2 hrs mix from Tale Of Us themselves, Afterlife Voyage 001 provides a unique insight into the duo’s ‘realm of consciousness’ and features a range of unreleased tracks and upcoming Afterlife releases. With names from the Afterlife record label also confirmed to contribute to this latest musical journey – their names yet to be revealed – the launch of the podcast series further emphasizes Tale Of Us’ growing dominance within the global club scene and reiterates Afterlife’s 360 degree exploration of music and the arts. 

Venturing to London this Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November for its UK debut, Afterlife will then head to in Miami for Art Basel on Saturday 3rd December for an engaging takeover that sees Marcel Dettmann and Recondite join proceedings.

I am looking for the bright blending beams of the space ship ICARUS to pick me up from White Ocean for a ride into the deep playa. I can see it arriving super dangerous and gently at the same time, a gigantic monster hovering over the cold sand. All of its machines are fully tanked and the crew is ready for take off towards a trip into the endless eternal darkness of the desert night, only the captain knows where he wanted to take us...to a far far away shrine like pyramid made out of lights...The DJ sets starts out with a sound coulisse by Stephan Bodzin accompanied by the improvised electric violin that runs though futuristic fx chains. lt progresses to an epic Seth Schwarz Remix of Lukkif’s Mine Hender that calls out the missing nomads to enter the ship for the journey. Once the engines are rolling and the reactor is above working temperature we start moving and the stars around us become only white stripes that burst into space time accompanied by Rauschhaus'a Eskrima - in that state it takes us only further into space, moments of silence occur, sudden moments of uncertainty, broken oxygen pipes, hidden agents that tormented us and blind passengers that had to be dealt with (for them the deep playa also provides;)). We we super lucky to find clean oceans to Reste on the blue planet Atlas to refill our tanks after being hit by Apollo. We were lucky then and out of the Imax speakers Opus was rejoicing, but not too long because the water was intoxicated with X-pollination, it not only Seems Real, it becomes a new universe before beaming back to Antwerpen… the legendary tales of the Icarus Crew are yet to be told, so let yourself float away and find yourself a ship to cruise on while enjoying this musical bonbon before the chapter closes with a captain future like hymn by Emika.

Since the turn of the millennium, UK artist Alistair Wells has been putting out a tough and abrasive brand of experimental techno that cannot fail to arrest your attention. Always skewing existing ideas into his own new—often brutalist—ways of thinking, his output has seen him become an in demand live act and DJ who plays across three decks all over the world. He does so under the alias Perc, mostly on his own label Perc Trax, and at the same time he has also brought on a number of likeminded artists from Ansome to Manni Dee. His own catalogue boasts albums like Wicker & Steel and The Power And The Glory, and these have rightfully won him deserved time in the limelight. That fact proves that although Wells has been around for years, he is as vital now as ever. 

As such he brings something new to our mix series across an hour of lively selections. Very quickly settling into a high tempo, high impact groove, there are maximalist techno cuts, passages of angst ridden noise and thumping bangers all bolted together into something uncompromisingly physical and in your face. Franky, it’s a vital visceral offering that would work at any point in the past, present or future of techno.

Mari.te - real name Maria Teresa Otero - has been for a long time on our radar: we are thrilled to showcase her current selection through this podcast. Despite being a Venezuelan native, the roots of her love for electronic music have grown in New York where she got to live 10 years ago. Over the years she took part in the ReSolute project and initiated her own parties: Off the Record in NYC. This is where she met our colleagues from RA+RE and got asked to integrate the only-ladies' roster while organizing events with the girls. Later on, she decided to leave New York for Madrid, where she is operating since a few years now, running her label Tresydos - we suggest to check the label and the 6 releases: different styles but same quality. She has launched her own brand of events in her adopted city, named after her label, besides being a resident for the Sigh Club, a monthly party with the best selectors of our scene as guests. Like everywhere in the world, the Corona hiatus paused her party projects - but allowed her to have time to record this podcast which is a dancefloor oriented blend of old and new bits, recreating a party vibe close to what Maria Teresa is known for behind the decks of the club.
