Luca Lozano, owner of Klasse Recordings presents this majestic 4 track EP on Optimo Trax. Inspired by the past but sounding the antithesis of retro. In his own words....

"The Optimo Trax EP was born out of a time when I was listening to a lot of old Bleep House and Rave, early 90s UK stuff. Growing up in Sheffield I was lucky enough to spend some time in Warp Records when it was still a record store and being around this music and the people that made it must have somehow embedded itself into my psyche. Listening to pirate radio stations like Fantasy FM as a teenager helped shape my musical interests as they are today and I guess this EP is somehow a reflection of that education, I wanted to make a collection of music that sounded like it was related to a certain place and time and in effect confirm my own identity within its context."

En sus quince años de carrera, Hess ha recorrido medio planeta para actuar en festivales como el Detroit Electronic Music Festival y en clubs tan míticos como Berghain en Berlin, Fabric en Londres, Unit en Tokyo o Bunker en Nueva York.
además, sus trabajos se publican en sellos como planet-e, echocord o deeplabs.

Una buena manera de empezar el año a cargo de Luke Hess.

The third release for Stroboscopic Artefacts in 2014, SA22 is the new cut from Italian producer Chevel. 'One Month Off' is an EP built around the abstract themes of construction, starting with demolition and ending on perspective.
Opening track 'One Month Off' combines a warm thump with skittering percussion. Ragged cymbals build pressure. As the track continues to strut, through insistence as much as confidence, it gives out. 'The Wall', next up, is perhaps misleadingly a more unsettled affair. There is little linear impetus, a panoply of syncopated beats and foreign noises from the undergrowth. This is a wall of multitudinous surface, a front concealing the unsettled and unsure within.
'Cave Dwellings' is a more organic construct, building from the traditional basics of a kick drum and hi hat. Like the opening number this is a confident piece, but the Caves resonate with greater darkness and menace. The kick squelches at the bottom, the snare drips; glistening echoes bound through the chamber. 'Marker Shop' is fourth up, uniting disparate urges and glorious moods. The beat is uncomfortable, and repeatedly gives way.
The record closes on 'Viewpoint', a piece of warmer perspective. It is not, however, a calm scene: in many ways this is a view of something more unsettled than what has come before. It is both jungular and industrial, an uncompromising marriage of nature and noise.
Chevel lands, then, on SA, with a discussion of construction and constructs. Out on March 31st.

Emotional house and techno crooner Joris Voorn finished 2014 on a high, with his chart topping record 'Nobody Knows' on his Green imprint being dropped to much acclaim and support across the scene.

Guti takes Joris in deep with this one, shunning the pretty house-highs and swapping them with some harder dancefloor flex. The Argentinian producer is known for his his own intricate style of melody-focused house and techno, and this collaboration with one of the scene's hottest acts at the moment is a a real gem.

Joris Voorn's 'Nobody Knows' (Remixes) are out on May 19 and feature other remixes from Kolsch, Christian Loeffler and more.

MARIEU (Restoration/Appointment/Livejam records/Sabotage rec.) and LUCRETIO (Mixworks / Restoration/Appointment/Livejam records/Sabotage rec./DeepMoves) a.k.a. THE ANALOGUE COPS are the founder members of the RESTORATION assault unit, one of the last independent underground labels on the planet.
They are true defenders of vinyls and the worst enemies of digital downloads; from 4 years they have been resisting in Berlin, where they had already imposed their message made of pure analogue Techno. Techno that comes from Chicago House music, from Larry Levan´s disco, from George Clinton´s funk, from Miles Davis´s jazz; in a few words, uptempo danceable R&B music.
Deeply inspired by Jeff Mills and Theo Parrish, they use their analogue sound to bring the order into the confused dancefloor of the world.
They use only hardware analogue gear in their live shows, raw and funky in the traditional Techno style. They believe that music is a form of comunication and education for all the people in the world, 
Actually LUCRETIO and MARIEU are pledged in a more dub and deep house oriented project, but always deeply influenced by their passion for american music. Their productions are appreciated and played by djs such as James Pennington, Alan Oldham, dj Buzz Goree, Ame, Santiago Salazar, Steffi, Tama Sumo, Prosumer, Radioslave, Dor, Eddie Flashin´ Fowkles, Rick Wade, Pacou, Mad Max, Patrice Scott and Marcel Dettmann.

Turbo taps it’s core talent to remix ‘100’ alongside a huge acid rework from Martinez Brothers.

The effervescent Bronx brothers highlight the package with their ‘Keep it 100 remix,’ a 132 BPM jacker. Guaranteed, club-conquering acid here. 

The rest of the mixes come courtesy of the Canadian label’s ever-replenishing crew of fresh talent, beginning with LA’s minimal techno don Shaded, who trips out the vocals, laying down a fresh evolving bassline and a loopy techno groove that will bring the funk back into even the darkest of afterhours. Next up is longtime label A&R Thomas Von Party, who delivers a surprisingly epic mix of off-the-rails madness that travels through a massive breakbeat-filled rave climax that will get hands in the air before dissolving minds into frenetic braindance. Fresh faced Eindhoven-native Trace7000 strips things back to the basics, with a chunky, weighty, pumper of a mix… big and loud, but restrained and smart. PC Music’s wonderboy Kane West steps in with a fresh take, centred on a super dope midi-slap-bassline and the endlessly repeating vocal appeal to ‘girls’ - devastatingly simple, super effective party vibes from one of the UK’s most promising young producers.
