In what promises to be the first of a cornucopia of new productions throughout the latter half of 2014, August heralds Paul van Dyk’s long-awaited return to the singles realm. ‘Come With Me (We Are One)’ finds the electronic music overlord back in the studio with Turkish/Dutch wonderkind Ummet Ozcan… The outcome is a fiercely infectious & effective piece of floor-propelling electronic music. 

‘Come With Me’ will be the first club track to be taken from the highly anticipated, Autumn 2014-release ‘Politics Of Dancing 3’.

A firm fan favourite, ‘Dae Yor’ (from van Dyk’s last long-player) notched the first production cooperation between van Dyk and Ummet Ozcan. Three years later, with the righteously anthemic ‘Come With Me’, the pair have returned to the studio together to create a fittingly large follow-up.
PvD’s Festival Mix leads the release’s charge, with a stadium wowing sound-wave of trance technique and electro-leadline ascension. It also features a rework from hotly-tipped newcomer Fabio Montoya, who pitch-bends ‘Come With Me’ in the direction of the mass-event mainstage.

The winner of that ‘Demolition Panel’ was Slaves of Sinus with an early version of Opposite of The Past. This EP is the result of the fire that experience put in his belly.

Quality dark, acidic Electro with an underlying dirty groove awaits your ears here in two new tracks plus the painstakingly perfected Opposite of The Past. To complete the experience Ukrainian audio scientist and label mate Lectromagnetique weighs in with his remix of the title track; somehow magnifying all the afore mentioned sonic elements into a track that is a monster in its own right.

You can spot Jimmy Edgar's homegrown imprint from twenty paces -- someone at BR HQ genuinely peered at my screen and said, “bit of Ultramajic, eh?” while I was typing this. The warped club constructions falling off the label’s assembly line take many forms, but often serve as an aural reflection of that typically eye-popping artwork: synthetic, pneumatic, and kinda sleazy.

Chambray’s “Rub” flew the freak flag high all through the summer. Now, as a bonus on his Rub Remixes, we have a remix of deep cut “Untitled” by none other than Len Faki. The longstanding techno don remoulds the track into the kind of functional, weaponised tool that laid our Berlin space to waste back in April.

A new year beckons and so does the ninth release on Shadow Sanctuary.  This instalment sees label boss Dexter Kane drop a couple of original tracks combined with two well crafted remixes from Kindimmer.

The title track: Hit Rewind is an upbeat affair.  Rolling bass, organic percussion and a rambling vocal sample from an obscure Inspectah Deck interview proceed a more stripped back section where a host of different fills and licks skip effortlessly around the groove.  As it's name suggests, 303 'til Infinity is a somewhat of an ode to Roland's famous bass module, a healthy slice of acid house, also featuring more than it's fair share of 707, 808, and 909.

Originally hailing from Greece, Berlin based Kindimmer is certainly one to watch.  His unique brand of house and techno has enabled him to sign tracks to the likes of Poker Flat, 2020 Vision, Resopal Schallware and Local Talk.  In this case he has delivered two remixes both of which deliver a more percussive dimension to Hit Rewind. His trademark style of big kicks, retro chords and heavily swung percussion shines through on both versions, a perfect addition to the package.


Dexter Kane - 303 'til Infinity

In case you missed the news a few weeks back, Huntleys + Palmers have primed a comp featuring Wolf Muller, Sano, Usio and Oklo Gabon for their 15th release. A record that aims to draw from talents beyond their regular (and exceptional) pool of talents. The folks who have really been getting them excited recently. 

This track comes to you courtesy of Golden Teacher, who H+P hail as "the best band to come from Glasgow in years!", and we could be inclined to agree to be honest.

Magic Tape 50 (Birthday edition)

As the world waits with baited breath for a follow-up to ƒin – a record that looks more and more like a modern classic by the day – we get a clutch of remixes trailing Talabot’s DJ-Kicks release instead; a holdover from the holdover, if you will. Thankfully “Without You” was a mighty fine standalone when teased out in late 2013, demonstrating Talabot’s gradual crossfade from nu disco into more shiver-inducing and (whisper it) trance-like territory, and the track is gifted a fresh lease of life on this !K7 12”.

Minimal maestro Thomas Melchior, riding high off his superb recent Perlon EP, spins the original out for nearly 10 minutes, but it’s Oskar Offermann who does the real business here. Abetted by sonar blips and rolling drums that form a techy counterpoint to the emotional nakedness of the original, Offerman sinks the original’s glistening guitar and softtone pads, allowing mere fragments to bubble to the surface now and again. A remix of surprising heft and replayability.

Mark Jenkyns is back onboard the Hot Creations imprint, this time featuring vocalist MC Chickaboo. 12 Stories (Mark & Chris Sylvester) are on remix duty for their debut on the label, and what a killer release it is!

‘On Me’ oozes with funk, groovy basslines and sonic madness, perfect additions to the Hot Creations catalogue and proving each of the artists involved know exactly what works on the dance floor. Getting heavy support from Jamie Jones & Richy Ahmed & Lee Foss, it looks like another hot-hitter from Hot Creations.

Mark hooked up with MC Chickaboo in light of her legendary work she did with Ewan Pearson & DJ Wildchild.  MC Chickaboo is a female drum and bass DJ and rapper from London. In 2002 she shot to fame when her collaboration with Timo Mass went to number one on the Billboard chart.

We enjoy embracing the world with good sound but that’s not really news anymore, right? In other words: BPitch Control thinks globally, acts globally, loves globally – there’s no limit to our passion for quality music. By no means ignoring the strong connections to several cities and scenes cherish, our special love for southern producers and DJs can be seen across our discography with releases from Hector Couto, Fur Coat, Silvie Loto or Argy & Mama. Howe- ver, it was the Ibiza veterans of SYSTEM OF SURVIVAL that completely unfolded our desire for Balearic sounds in 2012 with an EP and their debut album „Needle And Thread“. After their „I Mean EP“ from earlier this year, with the brand-new „Foundations EP“ Pietro De Lisi and Alessandro Carpentieri are presenting their next confidently stylish release.
The first track will get you on the dancefloor right away, with “No Reason” SYSTEM OF SURVIVAL accompanied by AÉREA NEGROT remind us of Grace Jones and you wont be able to get the tune ouf of your head. „Phone Home“ opens with a percussive emphasis underlining the hardware verve of our beloved boys from Barcelona without any detours. While the mellow soundscapes in the background invite you to daydream, the swelling bass ta- kes over the skillful turnaround. It doesn’t matter whether the ever-present Detroit infusion or the crazy acid finale – there are many reasons why the duo is deeply loved for their ecstatic sets at DC10. The title track is indeed less euphoric, but „Foundation“ tells an exciting story instead that receives a sinister shape through the filtered chords as well as distinctive bass. Is that still house or already techno? Who cares as long as you keep dancing! „Uno“ is the most futuristic piece on this EP. The vocal hints arrange some dose of hypnosis without ending up in a blind alley – a nearly nine-minute mind trip that is playful and deep at the same time. „Magic“ sprays this typical groove that we know from Pietro and Allesandro. Nearly unnoticed and pretty much light-footed, they create a warm house gem by using some sub-cooled sounds – in the true sense of the word, here is some magic going on. The EP will close with „Calandroppa“ that is initially borne by a wonderfully subtle melody. Even when the echoing chords seem like some kind of contrast, they finally form a liaison with those trenchant bass figures – that’s house music with a pleasant sense of tradition and a decent portion of modern esprit. On this level, SYSTEM OF SURVIVAL’s second album can be nothing but fantastic. Stay tuned, friends!

WUMP Collective is very proud to bring you this debut single from Faceless, an up-and-coming producer/vocalist from CT.   While this is only the first single released by Faceless, he is clearly very experienced and well-versed in all aspects of music production, which sets him apart from your average newcomer.  Working in ER Music Studios has allowed Faceless, aka Alexander Schug, to absorb technical knowledge and assist master musicians in composing their works, contributing to the development of his own sound.  Heavily influenced by xxyyxx, Aluna George, and ODESZA, he has been biding his time and perfecting his sound in countless late night studio sessions before sharing his musical art with the world. 

It is extremely rare to find producers who have such a well-developed, fine-tuned sound in their very first song AND who can sing their own vocals - but Alexander Schug is no ordinary musician.  His ability to evoke such strong emotion and move the listener through means of audial stimulation is nothing short of brilliant, proving that his talent is far beyond his years (age 20).   

His debut single, “Through U”, takes the listener through a flurry of feels with its melancholic mood and emotionally-charged vocals, written and recorded by Faceless himself.  As the song progresses, it ascends into a more pensive mood with airy, uplifting synths and vocal chops, and even includes a brief section of grimy, trappy filth and heavy bass that will get you up off your chair.  Closing out with a gradual ritardando that pulses and tugs at the heart strings, “Through U” will leave you breathless and awestruck in its wake.

This release has been a long time coming, and we are thrilled to present this debut single as a free download!

You may already know Steve Cobby: one of Hull's most talented residents, co-founder of Fila Brazillia and a chronic remixer/music maker. During 30 years of musical service he's forged remixes for acts as brilliantly diverse as Radiohead, Busta Rhymes and A Certain Ration. Déclassé, his own imprint is also home to 2014's critically acclaimed  Saudade and the upcoming (and brilliant)  Everliving LP.

"We Start Over" is an International Feel baby though - the result of Cobby and vocalist Trudie Dawn Smith combining for a bout of Balearic bliss. The ‘Private Acid Mix’ comes from two of house music's current treasures, Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer a.k.a Tuff City Kids, holding nothing back and dropping the 303 in a fine style with looped and twisted vocal snippets.

you the Figure Of Speech EP.
Just as the non-believers think they know what to expect from these two they’ve thrown a rather large curveball and headed down a different road. Figure Of Speech wears some African influences on its sleeve with a bumping party groove punctuated by some nifty
afro beat keys stabs and just a hint of acid. Victoria’s Secret
treads more familiar Detroit Swindle territory with the boys trademark shuffling beats and larger-than-life side-chained pads bringing the drama. Finally, we have suitably titled Live At The Cosmic Carnival where we’re treated to some peaktime tribal business with rolling bass, dubbed out dancehall science and some nifty conga work. All in all, some fiyah for the dancefloor from a pair of lads who know a thing or two about how to get a room jumping.

The second part of the „Diorama“ remixes offers again some of the finest producers around. Starting with Kollektiv Turmstrasse! What kicks off as a Chez Damier groove makes the transition into a loose dub monster. Collecting traces of the original sound and dispersing them with magic movements we see why Kollektiv Turmstrasse are a top act. Shifting the attention from the front to the far back from the obvious to the abstract... Turmstrasse create that parallel groove on top of the groove which seems to tighten up with every minute. Fine particles of sounds are sprayed onto the relentless groove and make it a real crowd pleaser.

Smash TV hit us in the face with their 'Matthew Pervert EP' way back in April, and we loved it. The blend of sassy vocal lines, deep chords and steady groove made this EP a total bomb. So, naturally, it's time for remixes! Coyu and Tiefschwarz take the honours. The Tiefschwarz remix of 'Matthew Pervert' open with shuffling percussion and stuttered vocals. The bass line slowly creeps in, and brilliantly engineered synth work stabs in the dark. In short, high expectations are met, and exceeded!
