We return to South Africa for weeks SYSTEM to showcase one of the fasted rising stars of the Amapiano scene, Mr JazziQ. As a co-founder of scene stalwarts Jazzidisciples, he has crafted some of the biggest club hits to come out of the country in recent years, pairing swung beats and sunset melodies with heavy, low-slung basslines.

"I am still battling with my philosophers," as George Lamming once stated. These thinkers occupy the terrains of the artistic and critical thought. As for music, I believe that Jazz/Blues constitute the autobiographical chronicling of (Black) life under the constant threat of death--whether that death be spiritual, physical, psychological, or cultural. This is the terrain of Black artistic & intellectual articulation.
