Welcoming Eora based DJ, producer and ridiculously good skateboarder Charles Fester aka @commandd to Passing Notes, who joined me in the studio for episode 168. Another talent emerging from the golden lockdown era of producers, Command D is an up and comer deserving of a direct line to everyone’s watch list. Drawing creative inspiration from the space between the digital realm and the natural world, Command D’s deft productions showcase a sophisticated balance between driving deep tech, rhythmic complexity and hypnotic atmospherics. His immediately captivating debut EP ‘Clone Dialogue’ recently graced the catalogue of bass-leaning label @bodypromise. A four track journey which introduces listeners to Command D’s already established sound - expect contemporary takes on the classic sounds of dub techno, tech house, bass and electro.

Lorelei (Laura Vicinanza) is a Chicago-based DJ, Producer, and Record Store Employee. Originally from Metro Atlanta, Laura began DJing in 2014 when she joined Ann Arbor’s Michigan Electronic Music Collective. She quickly became a resident DJ around the student co-ops and at local venues in Ann Arbor and Detroit. She joined Ann Arbor's 88.3 FM WCBN as a freeform radio DJ and on the long-running Crush Collision program rotation. Laura moved to Chicago in 2019, where she has worked at Wild Prairie Records and currently works at Gramaphone Records. Laura has played events such as Kudzu in Atlanta, Research and Development in Chicago, Interdimensional Transmissions in Detroit, and many more.

A glimmer of sunlight can go a long way to overcome darkness. As we reach the peak of summer, we thought it appropriate to invite our dear friend Sirko Müller back to contribute another of his classic vinyl dub mixes for those long days in the sun. As one of the founding members of Tokomak Records company, he is well known for his diverse sound, steeped in the rich history of Detroit where he draws a lot of his influence. More recently, Müller has also been putting on regular dub radio shows along with Stojche, Oracy (Don Williams) and Francesco Devincenti at the excellent d59b bar as “Dribbling". This mix similarly serves as a celebration of everything dub, with a careful and tasteful selection that spans the genre's history. So open up the umbrella, lather yourself in sunscreen, and dive deep into the (sound) waves with this 2-hour mix of pure dub bliss.

In March 2014 we teamed up with London crew Oscillate Wildly and welcomed New York techno stalwarts The Bunker for a 2 room 3 crew collab affair.

It was an honour to welcome Sherard Ingram AKA DJ Stingray to this one and it completed a series we coined the "Drexciya effect' after previously having Ultradyne, Dopplereffekt & Arpanet play live at past parties. He did not disappoint.

Really digged this line-up at the time and it holds up well now 10 years later imo. Up until about an hour ago i thought we only had the main room audio for this party but it turns out we do indeed have room 2's as well which is great news as every set played on the night was great so I'm sure we'll see more sets put up from this one so stay tuned.

Daniel[i] presents his new ep on Alpenglühen.
Berglüster is an emotional high-concept EP with 4 tracks that work well together or individually.

The artist from Aachen, owner of whispering signals, transports us into his sonic realm and offers us probably his most mature and honest work to date.

Berglüster is not typical club music, we actually found ourselves facing contemplative lab techno.
The hazy atmospheres, the lowpassed kickdrums and the cinematic pads reminds of the golden years of intelligent dub techno but with a more sophisticated and modern approach.
Those who love the music of Deepchord, GAS or Porter Ricks will find here a delight to be added to their collection.

As usual, this is an only vinyl release. 200 copies pressed.
