Amon Tobin occupies a peculiar position in the dance music firmament – a point where the gravitational forces of IDM, EDM, D’n’B and rather more hipster-friendly bass music balance one another out. He’s got every bit the production finesse, and often the weirdness, of WARP luminaries, he can also make some very deep and dark basement-friendly tunes – yet he is something of a rave superstar in the USA, and for The Six Rhythms EP he’s on Dutch loudness-warriors Noisia’s label Division. His Two Fingers guise was originally created for tracks with UK MC Sway, but it’s now an instrumental project. We won’t lie, the other tracks on this EP slide a bit far into stadium rave territory for us, but this one – a healthy dose of body-rocking warehouse electro – does the business and then some. It’s out on 22nd June – you can preorder on the Division site or iTunes.

Two Fingers "Adrian's Rhythm" - Boiler Room Debuts

At a time when social media seems like a warm tide of sluice running from industry foul-mouths prone to oversharing, it comes as a strangely welcome tonic when a producer is Google-proof. Not even because there's a worry they might fall foul to an errant late-night Tweet – it's more of the pinch of mystery in the unexplained; an effusive shadow cast across their work that seems to heighten it to stranger territory.

It's this same murky intrigue that follows  U – the retiring Londoner who George Fitzgerald once met on holiday in Greece and commissioned a handful of 12"s from him immediately. He's left little mark on the internet other than a string of striking debuts on Fitzgerald's  ManMakeMusic and Alkan's  Phantasy – and now without much ado, he's back.

This time, he finds a fitting home in  Fotomachine's  Technicolour with a new EP cut of similar cloth – agile, arresting and idiosyncratic house music, frayed and crackled with mechanical distortions and whirring tape-throb. 'Easy Prayer' is our pick of the litter – a warm and glowing piece of oddball club grub, snarled up with choppy drums and strung out on plangent synths. File next to Actress or Huerco S. and cop the full 'We Decide Who Comes In' EP  here on June 29.

Foreign Parts is both Seb Wildblood's first album and first release on his own SW label; a big step, then. Thankfully the Church co-founder delivers, bringing the same kind of homespun warmth his other label has built a reputation for. Eschewing the hazy downtempo house you might expect, the title track on Wildblood's LP takes a turn in the direction of of early Efdemin or Pantha du Prince: twinkling bells skirt across a pockmarked surface of clicks ’n cuts, but a little less abstract than the mid-00s Germanic set. If this signals a return of the sound, count us in.

Foreign Parts sees release on July 27th.

Alexis Yasky Boiler Room Mexico City DJ Set

Bradley Zero's swashbuckling efforts with Rhythm Section continue to induce pleasure across the office and beyond. His regular soirees at Canavans Pool Hall are typified by the type of loose, one-love community ethos that many club nights would starve for; red neon lit, set time-less and buoyed by an all-encompassing music policy. Naysayers need only check Edd Fisher this Saturday in Peckham. On top of that, the RS discography stockpile is quickly blossoming into a well-nurtured settling for talent; undeterred by genre or location, and instead driven by an unwavering feel good factor. There's already been woozy, drifting deep house from Melbourne's Prequel and the velvety hook up with Vancouver's Mood Hut rep Local Artist to digest. Just six releases in, and the air miles have definitely been totting up.

As the title suggests, RS007 resides a bit closer to home than previous entries. Good Morning Peckham is Henry Wu's (@wuesli) ode to his local area, built around his now recognised style of off-kilter, slacker house. "Dubplate Special" is a special lecture in groove; a marriage between succulent bass sways and radiant Rhodes piano that's oh so ripe for summer.

Henry Wu “Dubplate Special” - Boiler Room Debuts

Nicolas Jaar's Other People started back in '13 as a serial label into which subscribers pay for a weekly delivery of hand-curated content. Foregoing months of slavish promotion on label releases, it's a net-model that has allowed Jaar to take more risks. Buoyed up by a loyal support-base who trust his curatorial hand, Jaar's creative freedom has taken us into some interesting places: the outsider electronics of Moscow's Vtgnike; a collection of DJ Slugo chops; and of course his own minimalist brand of house-not-house both solo and as Darkside.

As Other People celebrate reaching their 100th issue, we pay homage with a debut from label newcomer and relative unknown Mrs Jones. Like much of the label's - and indeed Jaar's - output, the feel is delicately melancholic. "96" is all warmth and whirr, bound up with hallucinatory loops and insectile percussion. A fitting entry into OP's far-flung family and a hypnotic one at that.

Our second On-U Debut of the year comes via another excellent retrospective round-up, this time with the added bonus of  Trevor Jackson personally rifling through the archives for the deepest of deep cuts. Science Fiction Dancehall Classics clocks in at a monumental 143 minutes, running the gamut from bright funk to a pair of tracks about drilling equipment (genuinely). It features no actual dancehall, but does come stacked with early experiments and rarities from the likes of  Neneh Cherry, Atmosfear and about a dozen or so Adrian Sherwood aliases – of which The Circuit is one, alongside long-time collaborator Steve Beresford.
 
This entirely unheard take on the 30 year old "Loudspeaker" comes from a thrillingly fertile, open-ended period in UK music, capturing the spirit of the era well. Kicking off with the kind of stuttering hook a Paul's Boutique track could be built out of a few years later, the track incorporates chintzy synth work, dub sensibilities, scratchy messthetics and proto-rap juggling and scratching. It's clangorous, but also surprisingly carefree; a true metal dance.

Ron Costa is the newest signing to Trapez and a DJ and producer on the rise.He has already released an exceptional remix for Taster Peters track "Rapture" (Trapez 135) and now we have the pleasure to highlight his first solo release on Trapez. The French artist is really committed to the scene, playing all sort of clubs from what he calls the smaller clubs of the world" to top clubs. He is by all means a free thinker who does not want to limit himself to a certain style and so he is in line with artists like Akufen, Jeff Samuel Tim Green and Florian Meindl on Trapez.He has been exploring minimal, reggae, dub step and folk music and for a while now has concentrated on techno, house and dub.He mainly releases great music on his own label Potobolo but has recently also released on Sci-Tec vinyl audio alongside Dubfire, Paul Rich etc and has released remixes for Break New Soil and Great Stuff.His brand new EP for Trapez features the tracks Bazis Puzzle and Fraaz, which show his liking for the borderline of house and techno. "Bazis Puzzle" is a bassline heavy groover that swoons with its kinetic catchiness and polyrhythmic drumming. It is really the amazing sound design, funky and ear catching leads, coupled with sophisticated arrangement that make it a soulful experience for DJ and clubbers. "Fraaz" is a mesmerizing polyrhythmic DJ track, a rhythm rocker, with a fantastic stop and go feeling, a track that constantly builds up tension and releases it in its sensual breaks.
