it is with deep respect and love for his legacy, contributions to the Chicago music community, and overall incomparable demeanor that we present to you a very special smart mix by our friend TIM BAKER and his musical partner, fellow Michigander ADAM STOLZ. Tim passed away on 4/4/21 at the age of 53. he is missed dearly.

Tim was truly one-of-a-kind, a soul who valued greatly the imparting of wisdom and connecting with everyone with whom he crossed paths. he collected a large entourage through his varied and ambitious pursuits, both sonically and through his penchant for fashion, as evidenced by his brand and label, Elephanthaus.

a key force in The Saturday Mess events hosted in various venues around Chicago, Adam has released music on Black Nation Records and Prosthetic Pressings. he is just as comfortable and skilled mixing funk & soul as he is house or techno. Adam's sound is rooted in jazz, funk, and a deepness that is portrayed quite well here––befitting for a memorial, it’s uplifting, inspiring the listener to move and groove, as Tim would’ve wanted.

though he has transcended his earthly form to greener pastures, Tim leaves behind a large catalog of productions, including many with Adam, including their Rico & Sonny project, which is yet-to-be-released. we look forward to sharing in Tim’s creations, a gift that will continue to give, just as he did.

Here’s the second mix installment of our Esfinge Edits mix series entitled "Music For Stoners & Lovers" selected and mixed by Esfinge Edits label heads Sphynx People. This second volume of the series is a music selection of interesting original material from our bag that we considerate them as “stoner disco” and “adult oriented disco” tunes that defined our sound as label and studio-only project blended with some slightly more 80’s discofied stuff for slow mature dancefloors and also some obscure trans-continental balearic-minded edits including one of our forthcoming tunes of the debut release on Esfinge Edits that will be out in June 26 exclusively on Bandcamp, more info to be announced shortly. About JT
With a career spanning over twenty years, and an impressive discography across labels such as Cajual, Hudd Trax and Guesthouse Music, Dallas based JT Donaldson has carbed hisbown lane in the house music scene. JT Donaldson has been producing since the birth of Dallas' Fairpark Records in 1997. He has produced deep, soulful house music for labels such as Cajual, Cyclo, Distance, Seasons, Push & Pull, and Viva to name a few. He has worked with artists like Lance DeSardi, CPEN, Tim Shumaker of Home and Garden, Sandy Rivera of K.O.T., Chris Nazuka, Lo Soul, The Freaks, and house legend Chez Damier.

As a co-founder and in house producer for Fairpark, JT moved to Chicago from Dallas after the label took a hiatus. After recording an album for Seasons in Los Angeles, he moved again, this time to the left coast where he was working with Lance DeSardi and Chris Penny aka CPENN. In Chicago he has started his new record label with co-owner Tim Shumaker called, Gallery Music Group.

He has been able to share the music through DJing, producing, and now with his new label featuring remixers and artists like 2nd Shift, Home & Garden, Derrick Carter, Lance DeSardi, PTy LTd, Slater Hogan & John Larner, and Joshua.

JT's music has been in demand world wide and has taken him to places like South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, South Korea, Germany, Norway, France, Belgium, Turkey, The U.K. and many others. He recently moved back to Dallas.
