We've reached the third part of our mix collaboration with Swedish electronic music festival Into The Valley, this edition comes from Swedish duo Gidge who brings forth a beautiful mix of superb jams filled with subtle and hypnotic groove.

"We wanted to make a mix that was dynamic, both in terms of which songs we used but also within the songs themselves. It’s got some new favorites as well as some old lovers in there. Music we like, simply put. Hope someone else does too."

Into The Valley x Discobelle: Gidge

Following their sold out show at Corsica Studios last night, we welcome Grandbrothers in Hour 2 who are Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel. Together, they combine classical composition with modern, experimental production and sound design. Their debut album Dilation was recorded using a grand piano and a series of self-built electromechanical hammers, which were triggered to ‘play’ the piano, creating new and previously undiscovered sounds. On Oct 14 a remix EP of the debut album Dilation will be released on the label FILM. It contains reinterpretations from Djrum, FaltyDL, Portable Sunsets and Grand Optimist. They told us;
"The mix is a collection of recent favorites of us with no intention to stay in one style. It ended up being 59min, and we needed 60min - so the day before it was aired we recorded an improvised intro during a soundcheck in Dublin."

It's a New Year and a new logo, and we kick off in suitable style with a mix from Bonobo. One of our former contributors to the acclaimed Solid Steel Mix CD series, Bonobo delivers a mix to ease us into 2012. Music from Seams, Nufrequency and the Ramadanman refix for Jamie Woon sooth any New Year hangovers. Then it's an 808 mix of his track 'We could forever' and we move onto some of his musical highlights from 2011 with tracks from Juk Juk, Fourtet and Falty DL, plus Blawan and Mosca upping the beats and bass. We close with lush sounds from Koreless, Ifan Dafydd and Sepalcure, as we look forward to Bonobo's 'Black Sands Remixed' album released next month.
