Nights is a song that came to life over 2 years ago. Originally called “Stay” Nathan sent over a demo he was messing around with and we started shopping it immediately. At the time this track was created Nathan and I were still trying to find what “our sound” would truly be. When we felt like this song was finished we thought we had found not only what we wanted the song to sound like but, what WE wanted to sound like. However we knew we wanted vocals on it and that’s where the hard part comes. Nathan and I couldn’t find the right vocalist for the track for over a year. Different lyrics ideas, different vocalist ideas and nothing seem to really stick with us. The track literally sat in a folder as one of our better sounding and mixed tracks yet we couldn't solve the riddle of the track. Then came Kelsey. The whole time the perfect vocalist for the track was right under our nose and inside one of our own friends. Kelsey said she was interested in singing on a song and we sent her the demo right away. After a few weeks Kelsey got next to the mic and laid down a recording session that blew our minds. Her unique voice and relatable lyrics changed the feel of the song. Nathan and I put our little playdate touches to it and our track Nights was born with Kelsey Kay. We hope you like it and can’t wait for you to hear our new stuff with Kelsey coming up too.
