Giuliano Lomonte steps up on Dana Ruh’s Brouqade label with his groove-focused house cut ‘Reflections’, set for release on the forthcoming various artists EP titled ‘BQD40.3’.

Berlin based by way of Italy, Giuliano Lomonte is an artist set to breakthrough in the underground scene with releases on Ultrastretch, Pressure Traxx, Sukhumvit Records and his very own Point of View imprint. With his debut on Brouqade he’s delivering the tripped out essence that’s become his signature in recent years.

‘Reflections’ possesses a mesmerizing sound profile, with techy, whimsical textures and a captivating rhythm that builds over a cool 8-minutes. It’s an unbeatable groove primed for taking over the dancefloor.

‘BQD40.3’ is set for release mid-May and also features tracks from Jorge Gamarra & Gulp and Formas.

Italian producer Giuliano Lomonte enjoyed a stunning breakthrough year in 2017, with tracks such as ‘La Musique’ and his Brouqade debut, ‘Reflections’ immediately marking him out as an artist worth keeping tabs on. Equally as adept at turning his hand to minimal pastures as he is rough-and-ready techno cuts, he returns here to Dana Ruh’s Brouqade courtesy of an EP that goes some way to cementing his reputation as a producer of some renown. 



Featuring two gloriously atmospheric cuts, the Dramadam EP kicks off with the brilliantly titled ‘The Colour of Dramadam’. A deep, dubby techno cut, its not lacking in groove, with its intoxicating loopy vines sure to work a treat on any dancefloor it’s allowed to let loose on. A perfect track with which to bring the night toward more peak-time territory, its many melodic flourishes are every bit as colourful as its title lets on. 



The B side is no less emphatic. Characterised by a host of squelchy acid tones, it’s another vibe-heavy number that keeps the listener second-guessing from the off. More hypnotic sounding than what’s come before, it too is sure to prove a popular DJ tool over the coming months. 



An EP that compounds Brouqade’s reputation as a consistently eclectic and varied vehicle for discerning electronica, Giuliano Lomonte’s presence here is very much a snug fit for both parties. All things told, this is top drawer stuff from an artist - and a labe =l for whom we’ve come to expect nothing less.

Next Meander issue, which will be out on 23 July 2018, is named "Peace Monarchy", and will be the EP number 23 from the label.

For this upcoming production, then German imprint opens its door to the Canadian artist The Mole, which delivers a four-tracker EP and signs his label-debut.

On Side A, "Set you Free" stands out with both the original mix (A1) and the re-interpretation from Amorf (A2), the Romanian trio made by Cristi Cons, Vlad Caia and experimental pianist Mischa Blanos. The remix track, which we are here premiering, already resonated in several different soundsystem creating, when dropped, enthusiasm and euphoria on the dancefloors. It brings a sound completely coherent with the label philosophy, where classical music elements and instrumental interludes are used to give a melodic breath and freshness from insisting bass-lines and synthetic sound patterns. The complexity of the production does not certainly make the track redundant but instead, it creates a tight groove filled with background etherial elements, something we already found in DeWalta and Cristi Cons "∞", and that can be considered one of multiple Amorf's trademarks and distinctive traits, for sure highly appreciated by the label-head DeWalta, an artist with a strong classical background.

The work behind the track is structured and well organized, with nothing left to the coincidence. This high level of precision can rarely be found, and confirms the label extremely high standards in terms of music. Standards which are reflected also on everything else related, including the artwork. In fact, like all Meander releases, the first copies are made with limited and special hand-made screen printed sleeve. The 180 gr vinyl will also ensure a strong resistency and durability over time.

Fabio Vanore returns to his home of Incroyable Music with the captivating ‘Voodoo Ray’ EP.

The title track kicks off proceedings - a deep, dark and moody production that is carried by trippy vocals, whirring synth patterns and a marching drum groove. ‘Leaving the Comfort Zone' then dims the lights further with lush percussion elements and more developing melodic flurries that dance around you throughout its entirety.
The B side welcomes L.A based producer Cooper Saver who remixes ‘Voodoo Ray’ capitalising on the vocals and repetitive bass line in fine form, redefining the story in his own unique way. Benjamin Fröhlich closes the collection with a more uptempo and peak time version of ‘Voodoo Ray’ with rolling drums and mind bending synth elements.
