French artist Romar has steadily been making his way towards the upper echelons of the minimal house community. His lush, groove-packed productions have meant he has been called upon to deliver tracks for the likes Atipic, Tvir, Crossed Grooves, and Saga. As well as the tight beats that Romar is well known for producing for other labels he also has a clutch of top labels of his own in RORA and sub-labels Ode and Blue Ciel. 

We could talk about Romar’s slick productions all day, and it’s quite possible, but we also need to discuss how good a DJ he is too. A firm fixture at Supermarket the Frenchman regularly is called upon to head up the finest parties and play supporting roles for the biggest names in the business. His selection of sumptuous basslines, pristine beats, and tightly knitted mixes are all weapons at Romar’s disposal and his mix for us is as smooth as it gets.

Over a huge rumbling bassline and syncopated chords, 'Bleu' snaps its fingers and shakes its hips along with the best of them, while 'Muphrid' has a darker, more heads-down approach to keeping the floor locked in. On the B, Dan Andrei takes 'Bleu' for a 10-minute walk on the wild side, clockwork percussion and a cyclical bassline creating some sanity in amongst which all manner of mischief can be found.
