We're happy to have a good friend of the label such as Niv Ast back on our series, this time joining forces with his buddy and colleague behind 'New Day Everyday', Eliezer.

As one of the most important figures of Tel Aviv's electronic music scene, Eliezer has been playing at the best venues for more than two decades, also focused nowadays on his new label 'New Day Everyday', his own imprint 'Chicken Town', and on spending time in the studio, making music for labels such as Eskimo, Relish, La Dame Noir, Unterman and Days Of Being Wild to name a few. He also started the project “Deadly Weapons”, together with Liran Ackerman.

Besides playing in Tel Aviv at venues and parties like The Block, Alphabet Club, Breakfast Club or renowned Midburnhas, he's shared lineups at big events with artists such as Apparat, Juan MacLean, WhoMadeWho, Red Axes and Ivan Smagghe, toured extensively across Europe and will be back in Mexico soon.

We had the pleasure of having him as part of Leo Af Ekenstam release not too long ago, and are happy to announce he will be responsible for our next release, of which we'll disclose more info soon but all we can say it's a big one.

Musica Cavernicola’s 14th reference has Camilo Sanjuan (@@camilo-sanju-n) as the protagonist. The Canarian DJ and producer settled in Valencia has created two original songs that are pure energy. Cabeza de Vaca opens the release with its powerful arpeggios and a well-marked groove. A track that invites madness. This has been the track chosen by the Mexican resident in the USA Rigopolar (@@rigopolar) to makes his particular reinterpretation in the form of a remix. Quality and class in abundance, where true progressions mark a sound identity. A track to close your eyes and let yourself go. The EP closes with the second original, called Didac, an emotional tribute to a very special person for Camilo, that maintains an intense and serious groove, accompanied by mysterious touches of synth that surround the dance floor. A new release of the Madrid label that encourages us to turn up the volume and dance without prejudice, like a caveman.

One of our favorite producers Javier Ferreira returns to Side Up Works but this time accompanied by the prominent French producer MMYYLO, together they give us a bomb EP, which will be the eighteenth edition of the Catalan label. Headed up by French-Swiss veterans LuLúxpo - the now Barcelona based Paradise Children Records ready a fresh remix on the label to celebrate their 5th anniversary. This is a re-imagining of the label head's classic track Nostalgia by the masterful producer Damon Jee; a fine and fitting addition to a label continuing to broaden smiles across global dance-floors. 

Nostalgia was originally released back in 2018 and remains a clinic in dramatic synthesis. Here, the lauded legend Damon Jee expands on a vast back catalogue with his take - in doing so, he soundtracks a memorable dance-floor moment, ripe with hedonism and illuminated by flickering strobes.

An 80s soundtrack vibe is channeled and is propelled by a throbbing Italo baseline, percolating sequences and hallucinogenic spoken word samples. Progress chugs on towards a dramatic breakdown which spreads its jaws before snapping back in to rapturous effect.

French alt-pop talent Theodora is still riding high off the success of her Too Much For One Heart album from last year. It saw her distill her love of cold electronic sounds, r&b and contemporary hip hop with her knack for catchy pop hooks and warmly human lyrics. She has done the same on various EPs since debuting in 2016 and is known for telling evocative personal stories.

Theodora heard the original 'Twist In My Sobriety' on a cassette compiled by her aunt of her favourite songs from her teenage years. It struck a chord with her so she now revisits the melancholic hit with gusto, taking the delicate melody into danceable territory as she whispers the lyrics over a newly relentless beat. The tune has been mixed by Etienne Caylou and intertwines dance, new wave and techno in a style that is Theodora's own. Her voice is the centrepiece, arousing emotion and a furious desire to move. The tune comes with a video by SuperFeat, who has been a visual collaborator on all of Theodora's latest releases.

Giving Theodora's tune an even more club-like feel, British producer and musician David Shaw and the Beat adds his own remix. It is a pulsating dark disco cut with chugging drums and snappy hits. The arpeggiated synth keeps you locked while more dazzling cosmic chords bring colour next to Theodora's intimate and alluring vocal.

Peo Watson and Mika Frojman have known each other for 20 years now. In 2004, they produced "Chicago 72” which was discovered in 2018 at the 'Cercle' of Solomun session due to Solomun playing it as an intro in his set. This got the 2 back to work and after that, they shown a lot of magnificent things. 
After their last successful EP Signs of Sorrow last year, they’re ready for something new. Dust & Blood, the brainchild of Damon Jee, together with Kimshies are ready to come up with superbly forward-looking and sleek new sounds that will take you through several dimensions.
Opener, ‘Blue Planet’, starts off with classic bass lines, stomping rhythms and a post-punk vocal, all competing in the unique challenge of pleasing the audience in a deep-thinking  way. 
Followed up by ‘Cortex Five Senses’, a ride you will not want to get off. This time the approach is more deeper, pacy and hypnotic. A clear vocal swirls comes closer and they are letting their unique grunge-vibe shine through. It is a number that stirs the body and gets people sweating, leaving the listener longing for more.
‘Trapped’ goes back to those slightly older roots. Starting with a classic beat and the robotized voice of Erick Faulkner to analogy soundscapes emanating from modular synthesizers. The end of the track will leave you floating.
As the 4th track starting with an thrilling beat followed by metronomic percussion's, a female voice and some guitar pieces from the wild west, that transports the listener to a daydream of futures past. This along with a horse-riding ending that defines the title ‘Cowboys Don't Cry’.
Last but not least there is ‘Coming Out’ that’s closing the EP. Overall a more sinister and tougher track that awakens your darker demons. No better way to end with industrial synths, drums, and martial beats bathed in darkness.
All this on the ‘Dust & Blood’ label. The work of art that Damon Jee has been working on for a long time and on which a lot of great content has already been released. The Blue Planet EP of the French duo will certainly not disappoint on its release on April the 7th.
