Today marks the 10th anniversary of what will probably be my favourite ever Plex party - PCM2. 

So please sit back (or pump your fists in the air) and enjoy an hour live set from the immense Ugandan Methods AKA Regis and Ancient Methods. 

It was only the second time they performed live under this moniker with the first being in Berlin a few months previously.

This will be the beginning of a series of archival releases from the Plex vaults which will include DJ & live sets from all of our parties between 2006-2018. They are recordings straight from the desk and bar editing have had minimal treatment applied to keep them as true to the way they sounded when initially performed on the night.

What can be said that hasn't already been about Karl O'Connor? A total legend  in the game and we had a lot of fun welcoming him back to play a solo set for Plex after previously appearing with Function as Sandwell District a few years back. This was his 2nd set of the night having played earlier this very same evening alongside Ancient Methods as Ugandan Methods.

This one was a 5am madness with a super receptive crowd and a lot of mic action from the main man Regis. He had the crowd eating out of his hand the whole way through as only Karl knows how. One of THE best sets we ever had the privilege of having on at Plex.

So this one was made public a while back via Fabric but seems to have disappeared from the internet completely now bar some kind soul upping it on youtube so let's make it right. upload a FLAC and put downloads on. I missed this Plex party as I was travelling and caught about 5 minutes of it on the phone in a pool in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This is a closing set 04:00-06:00 in the main room of Corsica Studios and it didn't disappoint.

All being well there will be a few more sets from this party released in the future, another decent Plex for sure line-up wise.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #03] - Sandwell District - Live - [05.02.10]

Another gem from the Plex audio vaults. This was the 2nd time we had 
Peter Kuschnereit AKA DJ Pete play and on this occasion he brought along René Löwe for the ride to perform Scion (Scion Versions) live for 45 minutes. Creme de la creme dub techno and in fairness I could've heard them play this the entire night as it was so good.

This was another set from the 3rd birthday party in 2009. Seems like such a long time ago now.

This was the 1st PBS party that we did. 120 people in a basement club called The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington. 

Unannounced secret line-up until you arrived. Maximum hype.

Jason Subhead delivered a mind bending super wonky hardware driven live set for almost 2hrs complete with TV props and all sorts. Was pretty special and seeing Subhead live was a rare treat for all who attended as he doesn't play live often. 

Rest of the party was backed up by a 2.5hr Objekt DJ set and Plex residents.

Our 1st party at Corsica Studios (kick starting a long time partnership with the venue) delivered this line-up back in April 2008. Really varied in styles in both  rooms but it definitely worked and was a great night all round. 

This is a 5am main room full hardware electro assault from the mighty Kronos Device AKA Bass Junkie and Dexorcist, 2 guys who are still to this day very much good friends of ours. Sometimes it was pretty easy putting nights on like this as we had a constant stream of highly talented mates producing or DJ'ing which made curating line-ups a doddle (sometimes!)

Unfortunately most of this nights recordings didn't make it due to a certain someone being too messy and hardware failure, only DJ Pete's and this one was salvaged from the wav wreckage!

Our 5th birthday in 2011 saw us team up for the 1st time with good friends Colony and Machine for the 1st 3 room party we were involved in at Corsica Studios. It was a proper belter line-up wise across all rooms and if memory serves the crowd were bang up for it all night.

For this one we welcomed back someone who's music has resonated with us since the mid 90's, Neil Landstrumm. This was Neil's 2nd live set at Plex but sadly the audio from the first one in 2008 hasn't survived the test of time. 
This one more makes up for that loss imo and is an excellent hardware workout from Mr Landstrumm, somebody who has serious knowledge in making machines tick.

For the Plex All Stars party we welcomed back Rob Hall [Gescom/SKAM] who is one of my favourite DJ's (along with Mills obvs!). I have seen him play many times over the years and quite frankly he is the best in the business in how he seamlessly weaves in so many styles & genres into his sets. A proper master of the art.

Rob played at the 2nd Plex alongside Eon in Feb 2007, the recordings of which have not survived so I'm really happy we had this sublime 2hr set in the archives and can share this one with you guys. It's a classic.

Had a year hiatus from putting these archive sets out but back with a bang in 2024 where all being well there will be a glut of sets coming your way from the Plex audio vaults, stay tuned and follow if you want further notifications on these.

To kick this next phase off I couldn't think of a better artist to do so, Plant43.
Emile has been a long time friend and ally of Plex & Colony and this is a live set from 10 years back at the 1st P/C/B party we did along with Bleed. 
Despite personal troubles for me on the day I look back at this line-up in awe still, it was right up there with the best of them!

Recorded at 5am in room 2 after Pangaea just torn the place apart with a  blistering 3hr workout. It's a beautifully crafted spacey electro live set that flows perfectly from start to finish, just as you would expect from a master of this sound. Thanks Emile and I hope you all enjoy!

PCB - [01.11.13] - RM2 [Colony]

[PLEX ARCHIVES #11] - Plant43 - Live - [01.11.13]

The party that started it all over 17 years ago. We had no real idea on what we were doing. Begged & borrowed to cobble the line-up together, no real budget just a strong desire to do something different in London and this was the end result.

We knew Rob Cursor Miner because we used to go to all the same parties and we chatted a lot at most of them so it was great to get him on at the first Plex for a live show. Rob was flying high at that time with 2 incredible LP's on Lo Recordings (Explosive Piece Of Mind & Plays God) so go check 'em if you haven't heard them yet. Well worth a listen.

An absolute nightmare recording wise this one though, only 3 or 4 sets were recovered. No Vibert or Universal Indicator recordings survived which was particularly gutting as both were absolutely astounding on the night. Very glad this set made it though!

[PLEX ARCHIVES #14] - Cursor Miner - Live - [04.11.06]

Another party from 2012. This one was a mere month before the mammoth PCM2 rave so I don't really know what we were thinking doing something so close to that and with some pretty tricky bookings to pull off in the process, but a certain Mike Parker was over from the states in Europe playing so naturally we had to do it.

Along for the ride on the night was Donato Dozzy and both he & Mike played 3hr sets after a Arpanet live set if memory serves.

Mike Parker plays techno like nobody else. Mike Parker makes techno like nobody else. He is (imo) a seriously underrated artist both with music and on paper - I'm lucky to own a huge print of his akin to his screen printed 12" covers he did/does on his Geophone releases. The man is just super talented full stop.

This is a really special set marred only by the fact that about 50 mins is sadly missing after a Zoom recorder failure. Irrespective of that it's still well worth a listen!

[PLEX ARCHIVES #17] - Mike Parker - [05.10.12]

For our 3rd Plex Basement sessions back in 2013 we welcomed someone I had been desperate to book ever since seeing him play under his Sutekh guise at Sonar 2001, step forward Rrose.

This series of events saw us promote the night without announcing any headliners who were playing, a risky strategy in the cut throat world of London promoting at the time but in all honesty it worked and we sold out all 4 of the parties we did in 2013 pretty quickly. I guess those that took a chance trusted in what we were doing and who we'd get on to play. 

Seth played an incredible 2hr set on the night, weaving together really deep atmospheric minimally driven techno and building it up nicely to a more heavier latter part of his set. Another personal favourite of mine.

Another birthday and another 3 room mega rave at Corsica. This was the 2nd PBT party with our BleeD and Them cohorts and the line-up as per didn't disappoint.

Label boss of Semantica Records Enrique Mena headlined the BleeD room under his Svreca guise and laid down a 2.5hr masterclass of a techno set. 

We were lucky to have Enrique play in the Plex room 2 years previously so it was a pleasure to welcome him back to London again, this time playing in the 2nd room on the recently overhauled and upgraded Corsica Funktion One. 

It's a super trippy hypnotic workout taking in many tracks from his label and beyond. Enjoy.

PBT2 - [06.11.15] - RM2 [Bleed]

[PLEX ARCHIVES #21] - Svreca - [06.11.15]

Following on from Svreca in the BleeD room earlier in this archive here's another set from the same party, this time by Northern due Martin Cartledge and Alexander Church AKA Dronelock.

This was an ambient/drone live set and the first of 2 sets from them on the night. They also brought along a really intriguing visual installation that looked incredible in the main room.

I'm not too sure what happened to these guys and they don't appear to be active anymore which is a shame as they were producing lots of really interesting music during 2013-2016. If you see this lads, hope you are well wherever you may be.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #23] - Dronelock - Live [ambient/drone] - [06.11.15]

Had to put another one up from this party as it's equally as good as the Stingray set but for obviously very different reasons.

I don't think Answer Code Request had played in London prior to this party but already had a residency at Berghain and a number of releases on Dettman's MDR and his own self entitled label as well as an excellent LP on Osgut Ton so was more than on the rise at this point.

It's another hypnotically driven techno set but really unique to what was being heard around the time, Patrick definitely had his own carefully curated sound and the Corsica crowd lapped it up during his headline set on the night.

PLEX x OSCILLATE WILDLY - [08.03.14] - RM1 [Plex]

In March 2014 we teamed up with London crew Oscillate Wildly and welcomed New York techno stalwarts The Bunker for a 2 room 3 crew collab affair.

It was an honour to welcome Sherard Ingram AKA DJ Stingray to this one and it completed a series we coined the "Drexciya effect' after previously having Ultradyne, Dopplereffekt & Arpanet play live at past parties. He did not disappoint.

Really digged this line-up at the time and it holds up well now 10 years later imo. Up until about an hour ago i thought we only had the main room audio for this party but it turns out we do indeed have room 2's as well which is great news as every set played on the night was great so I'm sure we'll see more sets put up from this one so stay tuned.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #25] - DJ Stingray - [08.03.14]

The 2nd set uploaded from this party that we did with Perc Trax back in June 2012 is from headliner on the night Kangding Ray. 

With a number of LP & EP releases out already at the time on Raster-Noton we had wanted to book David for quite a few years previously and it never quite came off until this night. It was well worth the wait as he delivered an exceptionally exquisite live set jam packed with his signature atmospherics and carefully put together tones & textures.

The summer Plex in 2011 saw us bring over Morphosis for a full hardware live set, a returning DJ Pete and a debut set from Holland's man of the moment, Delta Funktionen. Room 2 had a full-on Brackout special in memory of the sadly deceased Plex resident Ben Bracket.

With a number of superb releases already under his belt on Delsin Records and Ann Aimee, Niels brought the fire to the main room with a really deep trippy set which went through the gears very nicely over 2 hours.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #26] - Delta Funktionen - [02.07.11]

IN 2009 we were extremely humbled to be able to host the 1st Dopplereffekt live show in England, so in order to represent this pretty major coup at the time we needed some suitable electros to back it up in the main, step forward Dave Paton AKA The Wee Djs.

Dave delivered a serious full hardware live set right after the headliners which worked really well once Dopplereffekt's highly abstract performance completed. Rough basslines, crunchy kicks and proper driving electro is the order of the day here.

Well worth checking out releases on his own ongoing label This Machine is Broken as well as earlier 12's on SCSI AV, Hidden and Touchin' Bass, Dave is very much active and still bringing the heat in 2024.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #28] - The Wee Djs - Live - [07.02.09]

Wouldn't be right as we approach the 30 mark to not have a bit of braindance from our 2nd birthday party with the mighty Rephlex Records and who better for that to be than the ever prolific Aleksi Perälä. I had the pleasure of getting blind drunk on Koskenkorva with Aleksi the night before in my flat in Hackney where he was staying, the guy is such a funny and quality dude but the hangover was savage ngl.

Despite the 'will he, won't he?' online speculation of whether afx was playing or not (the line-up remained secret until the day) this was another wicked party with 7 live sets in the main room along with a DJ Rephlex Records DJ set. A logistical nightmare to execute but well worth it! Hopefully more of these sets will appear in the future within this archive.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #29] - Aleksi Perälä - Live - [07.11.08]

This has probably been one of the most requested sets ever if I'm being honest and is a masterclass 3hr journey from Donato.

Hypnotic, psychedelic, trippy, deep techno crafted with care and meticulous attention to detail, he really is a master in that regard and it was an absolute pleasure to have him play for us all those years ago. 

Having 2 3hr DJ sets on the same night was a bit of a rarity for us, mainly because we usually had so many live acts to accomodate at each party so it was nice to give both Mike and Donato ample room to do their thing at this one. I probably only caught a short amount of this set on the night but since then it is one I keep going back to listen to again and again. It's a great one for late night driving as well.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #30] - Donato Dozzy - [05.10.12]

Ok so let's keep this Rome techno train rolling through shall we?

Next up we have Neel, co-founder of the excellent Spazio Disponibile label (along with Donato) and 1 half of the superb Voices From The Lake (also with Donato). 
Rome has always had a tendency to output really decent techno over the decades and these guys are very much at the forefront of it at this time.

Casper who runs BleeD was a really important ally when doing these 3 room parties over the years and always brought super interesting off-kilter artists to the line-ups at each one he curated, this one was no different.

Super tripped out techno. Another driving fave of mine for sure.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #31] - Neel - Live - [04.11.16]

Pretty much the 14th anniversary today or thereabouts of the Sandwell District party so let's have a listen to NYC native David Sumner AKA Function do his thing for an hour. Super deep techno from the man on this one.

Was a great main room billing at this party (as was room 2 tbh) with Forward Strategy Group along for the ride as well as TVO doing his hybrid/live thing [Archive #22], will hopefully get that FSG one out eventually too to complete the room.

I'm going to take the foot off the gas a little and stagger these releases going forward (guess I was making up for lost time after a year hiatus in sticking these out) but there will be more coming so don't worry.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #32] - Function - [05.02.10]

Yes it's another one from the mighty PCM2. This time from a dear friend and somebody who's music has been a big part of my life over many years now, 65D Mavericks.

Nick played for us on a number of occasions both at home & abroad and always dropped really well crafted sets as you would expect from someone who has been in the game for as long as I can remember. This one had loads of classic Detroit jams and had a nice old skool techno flavour running throughout the 90 minutes. Well decent gear and a brilliant earlier set to shape what was to come later on.

I hope to get the entire PCM2 Plex room up eventually as when i say every single set played that night was superb it's no exaggeration having listened back to them all now many times.

[PLEX ARCHIVES #34] - 65D Mavericks - [02.11.12]

Here's Cristian's headline set at the last Basement Session we did in 2013 before mothballing the format for 5 years or so.

This was the 2nd time we welcomed back Cristian to play for us having previously performed The Never Engine live and a Black-E set with cohort Ben Pest back in May 2010.

This was a more typical DJ set encompassing many forms of techno over 2hrs. You always learnt a lot from Cristian when he DJ'd and the track selection is like no other, full of surprises and electronic rarities.

Shoutout to @glitchform who I know has been eagerly awaiting this one!

Yet another set from our 4th Birthday in 2010. This party was a goldmine for recordings as we had so many different styles on the night so it's nice to get another one up here. Go check the other earlier archives from this party of Mike Huckaby and Beverly Hills 303808 if you haven't already.

This one is a pure modular live set from @headcleanermodular before other artists started obsessively messing around with Euroracks and the like around a decade later. Well ahead of the curve at the time. It is an chaotic madness of sound but so well done. A proper live hardware set for sure.

The last 3 crew party we did at Corsica was with electro stalwarts Scand and our trusty friends from previous parties Them. Only 2 rooms though this time so we split the line-up across both rooms and it worked really well.

The secret guest for Plex at this party is one of the nicest and most genuine people you can meet within the scene, Pär @Grindvik. Label owner of Stockholm LTD and veteran of the Swedish electronic/techno scene for many years Pär laid down a super hypnotic set which went down a treat during his peak time workout in a sweaty main room. Enjoy!

[PLEX ARCHIVES #38] - Pär Grindvik - [03.11.17]

Here we go with another PBT2 set, this time from the BleeD room and a absolutely crazy live set from another Swede (to follow on from Pär's set released yesterday) @the-subliminal-kid AKA Mr Peder Mannerfelt!

This 45 minute live excursion goes pretty much in all directions in it's short time, lots of modular manipulation, sound design and heavy use of FX make this all blend into 1 long track so come join and enter the Mannerfelt mind, it's a fun yet slightly unnerving at points place to check out!

[PLEX ARCHIVES #39] - Peder Mannerfelt - Live - [06.11.15]

Where to start with @ancient-methods . . . .

I remember back in 2007 after a trip to Hardwax I came back with several coloured 12's with not a great deal on them bar Ancient Methods and 1st, 2nd & 3rd Method on the labels. Upon listening I was immediately hooked and thought at the time this was the most exciting music I had heard coming out of Berlin for quite a while. Fast forward 2 years and the duo (as they were at the time) were on their way to London to play at our 3rd birthday with a load of other Hardwax related artists. Unfortunately they never got to play that set as a couple of nasty chancer thieves literally stole their laptops off the stage before they performed, never to be seen again. The worst thing about this situation was the fact that they both backed up to each other's laptops for their productions which meant a lot of unreleased WIP music was forever lost that morning. 

Needless to say we felt awful but made it as right as we could by giving the profit we made on the night straight to them (along with their fee of course) and Corsica also chipped in a sizeable donation so they were immediately able to buy replacement laptops but it still wrangles me to this day all that lost AM material.

It was however the start of a very long standing relationship between AM & Plex. Michael (bar residents) was the artist that played the most times at our parties  over the years and it became pretty much an annual tradition from our 5th birthday onwards that you would get an Ancient Methods live, dj or hybrid show. He remains a great friend of ours to this day so it's fantastic to finally get one of his sets from Plex out there.

This set is from our 9th birthday and is a really special 90 min journey. Hope you guys like.
