Ginger And The Ghost arrived in 2012 with early support from Triple J in Australia for their debut single ‘Where Wolf’ and global tastemakers embraced their alternative pop artistry. 

The partnership of Missy and Daniel, two mixed media visual artists who make up Ginger and The Ghost was created through a desire to do something for themselves, on their own terms. Hiding away in a converted water tank in the Australian bush, the duo were able to find the freedom to create. 

In March 2013, Ginger And The Ghost generated a huge buzz from their successful North American tour, including six SXSW shows, CMW, four in New York and ending the tour with a sold out San Francisco show supporting Poolside. Topping of this tour their single ‘One Type Of Dark’ reached No. 1 on the Hypem chart, which has hit over half a million plays.

A national Australian tour for their One Type Of Dark EP followed in July, sending key Australian media such as Groupie magazine into a frenzy over their incredible self made costuming and avant garde live set design. Their latest single ‘The Mark Of Hearts’ recently drew the praises of global tastemakers such as Nylon Magazine and more.

Performing at Bigsound in September 2013, the band returned to the US in October for a string of blistering sets at New York’s CMJ Convention. In 2014 Ginger And The Ghost will be gracing the UK for the first time with showcases at the Great Escape in May. In March 2014 Ginger And The Ghost will launch their next EP – Call Up The Whales in conjunction with a national EP Tour.
