Pluie/Noir Podcast is a bi-monthly audio-visual episode representing our work as an artist collective. Each episode will feature a one hour collage/mix by one of our producers/djs and a poster triptych by one of our designers.
We interviewed both artists and dropped some questions about their vision:

/YUZO

1.Hi Fabio, welcome to the p/n family. How are you?
Hi there, I am pretty good. Thanks ! I am honored to be able to join this great project. Thank you very much for your welcome.

2.You recently moved to Berlin! why did you move and how’s Berlin treating you so far?
Yes, I moved this January to Berlin from Sapporo, which is a deeply snowy North Island in Japan. My favorite & truly special club Precious Hall is actually in Sapporo, and I have seen great the music scene there be created by the club and the crowd, in symbiosis. I was organizing a party called “FLOPPY” at Precious Hall, sharing good times and my life with my close friends there. However, I was dreaming about moving to Berlin for some years now, which for me is a indeed a special city full of music and art. I didn’t want to regret never have tried moving to Berlin, so that’s I moved with my wife. 
There are lot of DJs here, and everyone is talented and challenging each other for creating and sharing music. I am feeling a huge pressure, but I've got many exciting things from the city already, and I think all people get a fair chance. It polishes off my own skills I think.  There is a free and easy atmosphere, I feel relaxed in here and it seems like the ideal environment to be creative. 

3.What do you do besides dj’ing and producing music?
I was teaching Karate when I was in Japan. Because my grandfather and my father are Karate teachers as well, I grew up and practiced every day at my home dojo when I was child. I had students all generations, from kids to adults. I would like to teach Karate in Berlin in the near future.  I am also working in a Ramen restaurant called “Takumi Nine”, it's a very cozy place with very tasty Sapporo ramen in berlin. Highly recommended ?

4.You had your debut at CdV with pluie/noir last month, and you also have a track on the upcoming pluie/noir compilation. Will this be your kick-off for new releases?
Yes, I will never forget I was part of Pluie/Noir's 4th anniversary party, and it was great moment in my life as well.  It was an amazing night indeed, from beginning to end. Congratulations again !
I am also very excited to join this upcoming compilation, the other artists are great too and I have conviction this compilation will definitely be great. I'm looking forward to the release. My other upcoming releases are one track in a compilation, and a solo EP.  Other labels are interested in my music, and I wish to release all my best works, so I am still focusing on producing new music and improving my skills.  It's incredibly fun to produce music at the moment, I think it's the perfect time to do that for me. 

5.What are your future plans?
I will DJ again at CDV on the 10th July. The party is called "Vinyl Society" which hosted by DeWalta and Luc Ringeisen. And I will play with Fumiya Tanaka. I am a bit nervous because Fumiya-san is one of the DJs I respect the most for a long time now. But I'm preparing myself with time so I can do a good performance.
Actually I haven't been getting that many gigs since I moved to Berlin in January,  but I think there is no need to haste. I'm taking it step by step, and enjoying other parties and meeting other likeminded people. I hope  to build trust amongst people I admire, and confidence in my work.  So right now, I'm living and breathing Berlin, my goal is I to play worldwide in a near future.

Seoul born, Tokyo based producer. after living in Australia, she moved to Japan and started to make music. her debut album, Pretty Poison, with Chow Down Records released on 9th October 2020.

Making music in solitary moments either side of a day job at the heart of the J-Pop and K-pop industry, Sundaysaurus lives a life steeped in sound, and to listen to her is to feel it. Add to this a classical arts background and forays into painting and game design – the vivid, cinematic wholeness of her sound should start looking like part of a wider story. On Pretty Poison, it plays out as vital club music that grows, warps, and regenerates in step with the life behind it.

1. How and where did you record it?

Recorded in my home studio.


2. Can you tell us the idea or concept behind the mix?

I think after pandemic many people listens to podcasts when the working at home. Also music that I listen to and play has changed I guess. Personally, I became don't listen music that doesn't feel human...I don't do a DJ much,been concentrated on making music, tried to combine songs that are not usually mixed together rather than mix for the floor, suddenly change the mood, and experimental stuff. I think this Mix also has that kind of feeling.


3. What have you been working on recently?

I released my debut album Pretty Poison with Chow Down Records on 9th October 2020. It premiered by Mixmag UK, also done a mix for NTS and Worldwide FM too. I want to do a live in UK soon.



ソウル生まれ。オーストラリア留学を経て、東京を拠点に活動するプロデューサー。UK BASS MUSICと、特有の個性的な音を融合させたデビューアルバムをイギリスのマンチャスターを拠点にするChow Downから10月9日にリリース。JPOP・KPOPのシーで音楽制作の仕事をしながら、自身のプライベート時間にも日々音楽性先に没頭。クラシックミュージックやアートの背景を持ち、CMやゲームデザインの分野でも活躍していて、まるで映画を想像させるような広いストーリ性のある鮮やかな音楽を作り上げている。

1. このミックスはどちらで収録したものですか？

自宅のスタジオで収録しました。


2. コンセプトがあれば教えてください。

コロナ禍で自宅で仕事をしながらPodcastをきいたりする人も多いと思いますし、自分自身も聴きたい音楽、人に聴かせたい音楽に変化が出てきました。個人的には、ダンスミュージックの中でもあまり人間味を感じられない音楽は聴かなくなりました。元々DJの活動はあまりせず音楽を作る作業に集中していたこともあって、フロア向けのMixよりは普通一緒にMixしない曲を組み合わせてみたり、いきなり曲調を変えたり、実験的なことをするのが好きです。今回のMixにもそういう感じは出ているかと思います。


3. 最近の活動を教えてください。

イギリスのマンチェスターを拠点とするレーベルChow Downより10月9日にデビューアルバムをリリースしました。Mixmag UKにアルバム収録曲が紹介されたり、NTSやWorldwide FMでミックスも提供しました。近い未来にイギリスに行ってライブもやりたいです。
