Started with a base beat in Propellerhead Figure with sync/clock track direct to tape from Korg SyncKontrol. Added layers from Matrixbrute, Make Noise Morphagene, and Mutable Instruments Rings. Recorded to cassette on Fostex X18.

Loping Along

This work makes use of recordings of a number of pianos, including two extended range Bösendorfers, one in the UK, one in Montreal, as well as a disintegrating Blüthner of somewhat questionable provenance. It uses a number of techniques for composing for variable numbers of channels and for large-scale loudspeaker systems. Böse was premiered at the 2010 Inventionen Festival in Berlin. This version is stereo/binaural.

Prompt: One – Make a jam using just one instrument
Key: A major
Tempo: 136 bpm

For this jam, I finally used my OP-1!!!
So you could say, it is the 1st real jam I made.

I was planning to use it the whole time, but it was the 1st time since many years I powered it up and I had to watch tutorials again to make sense of it 😅. Plus it is the 1st time I finished a track with it, and the 1st time I imported something from the OP-1 into Ableton. All the Ones I could wish for. 😛

All the sounds were made on the OP-1. I used Ableton mainly for arranging, adding some reverb, panning etc. Plus a litte bit of EQ to tame the oriental circular saw a bit. 😹

Jam2530 - One

I took a granular approach: I ran eight of the ten tracks through The Mangle's eight slots, and the other two tracks through Kaivo. Plenty of reverb was applied, then the resulting recording was run through Argotlunar with another generous dose of reverb.
