DJ Plush has been a part of Ottawa’s close-knit underground scene since the mid 1990’s and is inspired by early underground music and big beat sounds. Formerly of ‘Chicks with Decks’ – Canada's longest-running female DJ weekly (1998 - 2001), Plush has held nearly a dozen residencies over the years at various clubs and events.

Plush has also hosted a radio show called “Movement” on CHUO 89.1 FM showcasing female talent, was featured in a documentary for TV Ontario, taught at a ‘DJ school’ held at ABM Records, was the subject of featured articles and press releases, and has even written interviews on prominent global DJs and influences in the scene.

Her musical style spans many genres and can be heard in her mixes influenced by breaks, DnB, house and hip hop. Experimenting by mixing all of these genres together is her forte.

In 2009 Plush co-founded Funktion, a local promotion company. 2010 saw the formation of Electronic Paradise (EP), an annual 3-day outdoor event in Bryson, Quebec, now entering into its 6th year.

With over a decade of experience, Plush's seamless mixing and her keen ear for music has pushed her musical boundaries. She always offers a fresh new style that has provided her the opportunity to play all over Canada and many cities in the US. No matter if you bounce to house, breaks, or hip hop – you will leave with an appreciation for her unique blend of all three.

A staple in Ottawa’s underground dance music community, Plush has a signature sound that blends heavy bass house with breaks, hip hop influences and UK garage. With a deep catalog of standout tunes, her stylistic versatility has enabled her to be heard on countless dance floors in major cities across Canada and the US. In 2015, Plush joined forces with Queen Aga to form Elle-P: a night at Mercury Lounge dedicated to showcasing fierce female talent.
