Milena Soporowska | @milsopo - multidisciplinary artist, art historian and independent curator. Founder of @vvindovv.licker gallery space at Nowy Różycki Bazaar in Warsaw, which works also as an esoteric stall.

"I am primarily interested in the intersection of everyday life and popular culture with magic and esotericism. By taking various roles, I focus on the figure of a woman as a medium and spiritualist, fortune teller or witch.
One of the starting points for my work is the phenomenon of the popularization of esotericism at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries among the middle class, as well as the links between psychoanalysis and occultism.
I am particularly interested in the performative and aesthetic aspects of ritualized spectacles, such as spiritistic séances, fortune-telling or trials by ordeal during witch-hunts.
I work with photography, found objects, archives, performative techniques, text and sound."
