Corey Weekley goes by the stage name of Corey Andruz which is derived from his middle name of Andrew a name combination which his grandmother would call him as a young boy when he was getting into trouble. Corey Andruz is within the musical genre of hip-hop/rap an evermore evolving genre that the versatile rapper fits right into comfortably, (Nicole Michelle) "Bringing a real, lyrical, cocky and confident pretty-boy type of swag style to the genre". Corey Andruz resides currently within the area of North Philadelphia not too far from where he was born and raised.
At the young age of 9 years old Corey Andruz started rapping. His words started out as a form of poetry which grew into raps he would write in his notebooks sometimes three or more pages long. Because of his loves for music and expressing himself through words, Corey Andruz starting rapping using these words to paint pictures of his reality and dreams to come. Being as though Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt album was the first rap album he ever listened to, Corey Andruz was inspired by Jay-z among other rap artist such as the Notorious BIG, Tupac, Nas, and Mase just to name a few, but because Jay-z was rapping from his true emotions and about what was going on around him, this quality inspired Corey Andruz even more to want to rap about the things he was experiencing and the places he wanted to go within life. The oldest of three siblings Corey Andruz grew up in North Philadelphia and was raised by his mother in the rough neighborhood of 28th and Cecil b Moore which is filled with crime, violence, and drugs a place where a kid had to grow up fast and learn things quick, so growing up within that environment gave him a lot of material to express his self about and he developed a mindset of where he wanted to go in life. 
Constantly working in the studio and under the guidance of his uncle Sidwest who was once a member of the once signed Columbia Records RnB group Mission, Corey Andruz has learned how to be a studio engineer recording and mixing down his own songs and musical material and also has co-production credit on all of his songs. Being from the North Philadelphia area Corey Andruz has adapted to his surroundings of his native birth place and evolved into his own, making it a great accomplishment to say that he is not a product of his environment. Currently Corey Andruz is performing for various showcases within as well as outside of Philadelphia, working on new musical projects that are sure to shine a new light on the Philadelphia hip-hop scene and bring a breath of fresh air to hip-hop. Also Corey Andruz is working on many collaborations with other artist from the same and different genre's always standing out on a feature and lending a hook making the song sound like Corey Andruz featuring Corey Andruz.
