Today, a decade later, Playground has established itself as a respected squad based in Barcelona, a record label with a strong back catalog of over 50 releases, and a family of artists spanning the globe. 

10 years have passed since this beautiful adventure started and we want to celebrate it as we like best... Dancing. Get read y because the celebration plan will be huge! We will be holding parties in different cities around the world, and following the path started by the launch of 9 years, we present a new compilation with a line up full of great artists and dear friends who fa ithfully represent our history and our present... We’re happy to cordially invite you to the Regression Session, hosted by eternal Philadelphia scene flag bearers @zillasonacid ! And if you think this sounds awfully lot like a scam, you’re probably right: „Regression Session“ is just a front of their illegal black market operation, trading raw uncut gems on a large scale. Just listen to the opener and title track and you won’t exactly have a strong case for the Zillas selling out, but rough as it is, this thing is capable of destroying any dancefloor it touches. Looking at their recent releases it’s fair to say the Z’s are on quite a run, putting out music on labels like Permanent Vacation, Throne Of Blood, Multi Culti or Ivan Smagghe’s Disques de la Mort. Tunes like the sneaky rough slow burners „Underling“ or „Start Digging“ sound like they could be lifted from the latter’s infamous DJ sets, while the deceptively titled „Cha Cha Cha“ or closer „Casual Observer“ justify the „Acid“ in the artist name. „Shining Snakes Across The Lake“ is what some years might have been called a mid-tempo house roller and probably counts as downtempo these days. Speaking of tempos, the penultimate „Sweet Days Of Discipline“ starts of masquerading as reaaally downtempo, but ends up throwing 155bpm kick drums at you, so better watch out, all you k-hole ravers! Let’s not forget to talk about „bquiet“, which is what you’d call mid-tempo house these days (125bpm) and uses the eternally banging combination of a jacking beat, a polyrhythmic bass line, some lead-synth stabs and talking vocal slices. You can practically smell the sweat. So what’s left to say? What you see is what you get: They are Zillas, and they are on Acid. And they provide a collection of eight tunes that probably each don’t necessarily have a double-digit amount of tracks in their DAW projects, and that’s exactly what makes them so forceful. The Madrid-based duo formed by Rama and Pedro, aka Teemon & Poomba, make their debut on Rotten City Files with the Stellar Rain EP, following their acclaimed work on labels like Música Cavernícola and Espacio Cielo. This release features two original tracks and two remixes by Psycho Weazel and Alvaro Cabana, offering an opportunity to revisit the "Euro Disco" roots and influences of the label.



"Meteoro Rain" is a track with an Italo vibe that, combined with Rosa's vocals, gives the song a retro character. A hopeful synth melody and modern production provide it with the necessary strength to shine on the dance floor without losing its nostalgic soul.



On the other hand, "Stellar Love" retains the Italo essence of the previous track but leans more into epic melodies and arpeggios. It shares the same nostalgic soul and power but is tailored for those who connect more with instrumental productions.



Label head honcho Alvaro Cabana reimagines the first track with a '90s groove, adding a faster tempo and a mood reminiscent of late-'90s Tech/Progressive House, with some nods to classic "Reese" productions (“Rock To the Beat”).



Closing the release, the Swiss duo Psycho Weazel (Exploited, Correspondant, Iptamenos) transforms Stellar Love into a peak-time bomb made for the dance floor, with a hypnotic, trance-like mood sure to delight the most devoted rave heads.

Initially described as “superlative 25th century electronic exotica” by Cowboy Rhythmbox themselves, the fourth EP from Phantasy’s in-house trouble and hitmakers received continued support from top jocks including Dixon, Jackmaster and Marcel Dettmann. Now, it’s dynamic lead track is rejigged, expanded upon and shot through with analogue energy by two equally inventive producer pairings.

Fellow outsiders on the inside of the house of house, Israel’s finest Red Axes take the first turn, coaxing the cosmos out of the original and allowing the bewildering vocal samples to lead the way through waves of more than pleasurable cosmic tension. Soon, with the timing just right, feet to pedals and strobe to hand, the pair unleash a series of distorted guitar licks that blow dust off the stacks, even throwing in a sharp blast of their trademark surrealist vocals for extra freaky FX.

On the flip, Marvin & Guy zone out and hone in on the original’s EBM-indebted elements to contribute a trippy, wave-riding electro rework that oscillates irresistibly. Teasing listeners with a playful, almost naive synth line, the mood shimmers instead with uncompromising acid, as the pair ultimately push the modulars into strange and hypnotic territories to get lost in.
