[Los Angeles-based] electronic bass/trap music producer HYPEITUP declares pure domination every time he steps on and off stage. His breathtaking style and performances can be traced back to his passion for music at a young age. HYPEITUP found his love for the electronic dance movement early in life and began to formulate an appetite for creating and developing the sounds for himself, quickly catching on, and finding his groove in the industry. Starting his tenure in 2011, he has rapidly found himself playing stages for Insomniac like Electric Daisy Carnival, Psycho Circus, and a multitude of touring stops with Corona’s Electric Beach events. Whilst his repertoire of tracks only grows with time, his catalog of bangers like ‘Mojave’, ‘Jump It Off’, and a bone-crushing remix of PhaseOne’s ‘Crash and Burn’, whilst covering the large surface area of bass and trap music in his sets. This is HYPEITUP and he is here to stay.

Souta. is more than a record label: it is passion, a feeling, a crew, a family.  

Souta. in Japanese means “sudden sound of the wind”, the label’s sound is forward-thinking House & Techno; thick, big & sudden, deep with a sprinkle of Afro and plenty of playfulness. The crew comes from several continents, backgrounds and talents. Some have been lead designers for top fashion houses, others running infamous hedonistic parties in New York, others are leading couch critics and nap aficionados. The goal is to bring all of these pieces together to do something serious. Seriously fun. 

Several members grew up living on a skateboard and playing in punk bands. This punk attitude is a cornerstone of Souta., to break the rules, think outside the box, do what feels good, and do things for yourself. Souta’s artists are not out to compete with Mozart’s symphonies; they are out to have fun making electronic music, and share this feeling with others. 

Not only a mental construct, the past two years have seen the label’s founder Chukku, building a studio complex on the tropical island of Bali, to be the label’s creative epicentre, complete with a BBQ working overtime and a touch of surfing on the side.
