I have just finished your story and found it wonderful. It was beautifully, at times poetically, but always tenderly written, always with a fierce feeling of protection for your main characters. This was a difficult story to read, always with the knowledge that in the many war zones of today's world the rape of both women and men is sadly frequent, usually in an area where there is little or no help available for the unhappy victims.

You described very vividly the mental, physical and emotional trauma following such a crime, leaving me, to be truthful, unhappily aware of the state of the human race today. Civilisation is such a thin skin over the body of we predatory humans, it takes so very little to tear it aside and leave the worst of us free and unleashed upon the world.

Our cruelty to our own is, I think, unparalleled in the animal kingdom. That from what we call a civilised, rational race. There are so many psychopaths in society that I have begun to question what is normal and what is not, especially when you add in the number of people with psychotic tendencies. I do nt think that it is possible to say that we can prevent such predatory behaviour butt we should increase the scope of our treatment of the many victims, especially when in many societies the victims are further victimised by their own families and communities.

You write with a very tender understanding of the effects of this terrible crime on the victim, your description of John's love for Sherlock, his innate humanity, was truly beautiful. I look forward to reading more of your work. Kudos!
