Storiavoce entame une nouvelle série de [Cours d'Histoire] sur les mythologies grecque et romaine. Dans une première partie, nous comprendrons d'où viennent les mythes, comment se construisent t'ils et quelle fut leur place dans les sociétés romaines et grecques. Dans un deuxième volet, nous verrons comment les mythes sont intimement liés à l'environnement. Enfin, dans un dernier volet, nous nous poserons la question des liens que Grecs et Romains entretenaient avec leurs mythes. Dans cette première partie, Christophe Dickès reçoit Laure de Chantal qui répond aux questions suivantes: 

- D’où viennent les mythes ? Qui sont les auteurs les ayant racontés?
- Quel rôle joue Homère dans la mythologie?
- Comment connaît-on les mythes ?
- Quels sont les grands récits mythologiques?
- Du côté de l’histoire quand la mythologie s’arrête-t-elle? Quelle est la limite ? La mythologie est-elle l’équivalent de la pré-histoire pour les Grecs et les Romains?

Notre invité: Normalienne et agrégée de lettres classiques, Laure de Chantal dirige la collection Signets / Belles Lettres. Elle a publié plusieurs ouvrages sur la langue française et la mythologie dont La Bibliothèque classique infernale (2016, 29,50€) ou encore avec Jean-Louis Poirier la Bibliothèque mythologique idéale (Belles lettres, 29€). Enfin, elle vient de lancer la collection des Petits latins qui permet d'améliorer son français grâce au... latin.

Nick is joined by journalist and broadcaster Lydia Hislop as the build up to the Cazoo Derby continues. They react to a busy 24 hour period which saw Aidan O'Brien take everyone by surprise by announcing he would rely on a sole representative for the first time since 2004, namely the heavy favourite Bolshoi Ballet. They also discuss the attendant repercussions, which has seen a jockey merry-go-round, with Frankie Dettori stepping in for John Leeper and Adam Kirby switching to Adayar. Nick and Lydia tackle the huge international news last night that has seen Bob Baffert suspended from competition at Churchill Downs Incorporated tracks for two years. Also in this episode, Nick talks to Epsom clerk Andrew Cooper, Derby winning rider Martin Dwyer and The Wine Tipster Neil Phillips.
