Lines on a Map

Starting to master the Ableton a bit more. I blended an African drum groove with an Alert drum kit and then built up a drum beat writing it in rather than trying to tap in time on the pads, which can be tricky. I used an Arp repeater for the bass and put in three chords of a nice Brass Quartet plug-in. Yes, this took me bloody hours. I added my own guitar via an audio input with a few delay effects. I'm going to miss Ableton 11 when the trial expires !

AAS keep sending me free packs. O.K. The Masala instruments is pretty cool. Got some nice Asian strings in there. I've been messing around with Strum2 while my finger is healing. It's good for laying down a rhythm. Starting to get the hang of 'capture' on my Launch Key and editing digital notes after recording. It can save a lot of time. 
I put this tune together in about 30 minutes, then another 15 to edit.

Simon Pitchforth - I've Got Fruit Under My Skin

A classically tinged sonic collage which features a recording I made of the experimental Indonesian vocal group Raung Jagat at the 2016 Rrrec Festival which took place in Sukabumi, Java. This one also features various field recordings and plenty of programmed orchestral textures courtesy of the Miroslav Philharmonik VSTi.
