Poetic Funk is as they say ”The Last of A Dying Breed”  an 80’s baby that grew up crazy. His music tells the tales of his upbringing, the way he tells “The Life I Lead” Series is “The Diary of a G.” A Northern Colorado Native, born to proud teen Chicano parents with roots stretching down from Guanajuato, Mexico to Uvalde, Texas. Through his parents, he was blessed with a huge family. A gift and a curse with 11 aunts and uncles on both his mom and dad side and countless primos. His Parents were like the Chicano Romeo and Juliet. Dad grew up on the North, Mom grew up on the South. Needless to say growing up was interesting as a child of forbidden love with family in rival gangs. The primos grew up close but yet so far. In 1990 his Uncle Orlando died an untimely controversial death which set off a firestorm chain reaction that changed the trajectory of life for the entire family. Revenge was sought, people were stabbed, people were shot. Reputations were earned while situations burned. All the while being immersed in the lowrider lifestyle. PoeticFunk seen a lot, learned a lot and burned a lot. With all this crazy shit going on combined with living in poverty, the only place little Manuel didn’t feel judged was when he was having conversations about pain with his pen and paper at the library.  . At the age of 14 he ran away from home turned to BBoying and turned his poems into raps and became Poetic, he released his first album at 16 called “PoeticFunk” with Josh Lopez and Knockout Productions. Becoming a father shortly after at the age of 17, he signed briefly to 4Reel Records but ultimately landed with Trump Tite Entertainment in 1999.Appearing on “Frontline” and “Family Ties,”  Trump Tite set the tone for Independent Artist in Northern Colorado. After becoming a father again Poetic eventually went Solo with Big Wiggz and North West Produkshunz and dropped Life I Lead volume 1 with Features from Spice 1 and Numskull from the Luniz as well as the “We Got Issues” Compilations with features from BlackChild from Murder Inc, Haystack and Luni Coleone in 2006. Slanging 2000 Cds out the trunk among other things and followed up with Life I Lead volume 2 “Everythang Changes” in 2010 slanging another 2000 units independently from Texas to Nebraska. Poetic was finally getting some momentum. Unfortunately due to a nasty custody battle and accusations that as a performer Poetic couldn’t properly care for his son. Poetic gave up music to prove he could take care of his fatherly duties eventually getting full custody of his son. 
Fast Forward to 2022. Lowriding is Life, Poetic Funk’s older children are grown. Poetics Family Car Club “Legacy Lows” is planning their first Car Show and Skip Dogg sent Poetic a beat to write a Lowrider song for the Car Club Community. The song, “Take a Ride With Me” was an instant banger getting picked up by Thump Records shortly after and among two other songs from Poetic on The Lowrider Super Show Los Angeles Compilation in February 2023. Poetic Funk kept investing in beats from Simes Carter, Skip Dogg, Roxmooth, Miki Bangemz and Motrax. With a renewed fire under his ass and a new passion for music. The heat has ramped up, now promoting his new Single “Forever” Featuring Simes Carter and Gemini as well as “All I Know” and “Child from The Barrio” featuring Sonny Nuke. PoeticFunk is excited to let the world know what he’s been cooking! Stay Tuned!
