Fripp, Robert & The League Of

This is one of my favourite site of London, the Thames path. I want to share the atmosphere with you with this track. Hope you enjoy it. Instruments in use, is Roland Aira (SH1 and SH2 and Promars) and Roland JD-Xi. This is the first music I entirely have made with Logic pro.

some people say that all of life is a dream and then you wake up
well, one day, I woke up. I felt a hole in my head.
I honestly don't think I shot myself. I haven't been sad recently.
I put my finger in it. 
it was vaguely triangular and it was dry 
as though it had healed up long time ago.
A hole in my head.
And I wondered how long I had been asleep here. 
You see, I'd fallen asleep in a cave. My cave. 
Just a place I like to go to when I need  quiet time away from 
my many duties, many people. 
I lie down in the cold dark cave and I sleep...in the sand.
So it's no wonder I'm confused. I crawl out into the sunshine.
A bad headache. I can feel the sunlight entering into my head through the hole...and it's warming everything up...and I don't feel so good.
I may be dying...I throw up....it's a strange feeling.
I think the hole is at least three inches wide..and I'm wondering where 
has my brain gone..how can I still stand and think and function when most of my head is empty now....it doesn't make much sense to me...but I keep walking in the direction of my home
but when I get there 
it's all in ruins 
and  covered in vines
and I realize I really don't know how long I've been sleeping in that cave...a thousand years? 
 time begins melting in front of me.
The plants grow back and the house rebuilds itself
and then I see people in the house...they're not my family...fish in a fishtank
...and there's another family..and then they disappear
this goes on for a while until finally I see my children in the house, my husband, and I think I should jump in
be with them in that particular slot of time
to go on in my  particular slice of existence
but I don't know if I can
maybe I'm just meant to watch it all

I should be with them
that's what I've been thinking lately.

Experimental Radio is an effort at using the amazing, yet still limited, caustic music app to create a primitive "q-sound" affect. The easiest way to explain is, in a mixer or app that allows you to bounce one track, with preferably one voice, say a single tom hit, onto 5 tracks. One track is panned hard left, the next quarter, a mid pan, then quarter right and hard right. You put a delay of say between 125 ms on one, then 250 on the other, etc... or at least I've done similar, though the exact numbers and positions I settled on I of course don't remember, and the caustic is something were I was not able to do this exact type of setup, which made the challenge more enticing. I had to use only my ears given the caustic weakness in multi-tracking in the way I mentioned. I hope this gives a good idea of how I am trying to create a 4 dimensional space and also the illusion that one of the voices on "experimental radio" sounds like it is coming from a place other than your speakers? Or at least I hope so? That is what my aim was, as well as to create a pleasant and chill piece of ambience :). Please do let me know if you hear the "illusion?"

I sometimes feel as though there is a city in my head
people are building skyscrapers
and the skyscrapers are scraping the top of my skull—
it's a busy world. 

They tear down and build up.
I don't know why they don't keep the old buildings. I like them.
They're classic. Words we live by. Ideals. The notion of ethics.

One day they tore down the Golden Rule, which I love very much
even though no one has actually walked into that building for quite a while.

I don't know what they began building in its place...
It was angular, windowless, almost like a needle, it swooped and curved.
I can't imagine anyone living in it. 

But I think this new building was about getting by, 
surviving on as little as possible, 
a sort of minimalism of expectation, 
as to prevent disappointment.
Basically nothing could fit in this building.
It was barely the width of two people 
who were holding each other very close.
I doubt they could fit in the building.

But there it was 
and people were building it.
It's amazing. 
The notion of beauty is being changed. 
With every building, 
it's getting stranger and stranger.
possibly more barbaric, 
and yet fewer details, as if they are in a hurry
as if a sketch is enough 
and the notion of workmanship....
there's no time for it, 
there's no time for anything. 

They just keep building faster and faster.
and now the bones they use 
aren't steel beams.
They use  bamboo.
And they climb them like agile monkeys.

I barely understand what is going on in my head.
Who are they building for? 
Who is watching them? If it's me...
they never asked me if i like what i see.
Perhaps it's simply 
the distance between us. 
I am outside my head
and they are inside my head. 

And the dome of my head 
is like the sky's hemisphere. 
Possibly when they look up, 
the nerves, sparking, look like stars.

Who knows what's going on in there 
or what they do when they're not building. 
It's strange...when they stop moving, 
they vanish as though they are more thought 
than actual beings...as if they are impulses...
the impulse to build...

I suppose they are building  thoughts I never pursued...
you see, if you don't pursue a thought within 5 seconds of thinking about it, 
you simply don't do it.  

I think these buildings are 
what I abandoned...and somehow they took it up... 
my discards, my wishes..hopes..fears.. 
they took it up 
and brought it back right to me...
and here I am.
