Turrell Thomas Sims (born August 17th, 1987), better known by his stage name " XYZ " (Urstrulyxyz), is an American rapper, signer, songwriter and record producer. Born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, he first became involved in music as a part of the French Montana collective, Cokeboys, where he was formally known as “MeetSims“. After amassing a series of featured collaborations between 2014 - 2018, the recording artist sought change for a new beginning, and thus “ XYZ “ was born.  Between late 2014 and 2016, he had featured and written on multiple recording albums, including both Chinx’s “Welcome To JFK” and “Legends Never Die”, as well as Chrisette Michele’s “Milestone”. Since his start he has written and featured with some of the biggest names in music, including but no limited to, Chinx, Nipsey Hustle, Rick Ross, French Montana, Nas, NLE Choppa, Polo G, Kendra Jae, Migos, 2Chainz, Chrisette Michele, Tyga, etc.  In one of his most recent efforts, the singer-songwriter attributed his hand in the collaborative Chris Brown and Young Thug “ Slime & B” Album, co-writing the smash hit “Go Crazy”, which has now been certified triple platinum, amassing over 3 million sales and counting.

The state of Arkansas has been declared LockBoyz territory! With fiery stage appeal and songs that speak to their ever-growing number of fans, this group of rappers from Prescott is a standout.
These hometown friends, with a strong connection of brotherhood (from childhood through college) have the longevity and drive needed to cross borders into a new rap zone. By blending old school with new, and east coast with west, they have created a fresh down-south style that has mass appeal.

Originally founded by Hook Jr. and his two cousins, DJ Hopson and TackForce (who is now their in-house producer), the performers in the group include Hook, who stands as big brother; Balla-T, little brother of the crew; Chop City; Lil’Dre; J-Block; and 3C.

Not ones to ever take ‘NO’ for an answer, the LockBoyz have broken through barriers that have stood in the way of realizing their dream. They have played everywhere from celebrated concert venues to parties in the roughest ‘hoods. They have sold albums out of the trunks of their cars while doing promotional tours all over the south. They’ve gotten radio play and opened for noted artists like Trey Songz, Tierra Marie, Yo-Gotti, 8 Ball and MJG, Young Buck, to name a few. And they continue to push forward with full force.

Prolific songwriters with nine releases to their credit, the latest, “Rise and Grind” (released in 2012), just might be their key to entering the national spotlight. “Rise and Grind” features songs like Bust It, a favorite with the ladies that offers a mellow touch but still jams in the clubs; Alright, which tells of their struggle to see better days; and Look Back At It, with its addictive hot dance mix.

The Lockboyz have also collaborated with fellow artists on some songs, including Round for Round, an R&B cut with vocalist Solo; and Prove It, a blistering number with a jazzy feel that features Southside Reggie. Also included in the collection is Talk to Me, which samples rap legends KC and JoJo; and From Round Me, a sure hit that reads all the fakers in the world that try to get the best of us.

With production credits led by TackFroce, the release also includes guest producers Don Dash, Fly Beatz, Double D and Lil, Homie Justin. The LockBoyz also continue to acknowledge those who have helped their career progress: father figure and mentor Roc-B, who has guided them; and NoLuv, a close advisor who first put them in the studio.

Writing about a wide array of issues, from hustling to life’s everyday struggles, from women to living in the fast life and back, the LockBoyz seem to speak for a generation. Their hardness is balanced by humility and motivation; their street smarts peppered with positivity and down-south sensibility.

With an effortless blend of a silky smooth voice with the spice only the street can provide, the music of Taitano has developed into a universal sound that will make its way into clubs, cars and most definitely bedrooms. "I like to sing grown folks music," Taitano says. "I been doing this since I was born so it’s just a part of me." Although the current trend is to jump into hip-hop and look for ...the one-hit magic, Taitano is focused on making sure crooners keep their place in real R & B music. His first single Can’t Let It Go showcases his soulful sound, highlights his wisdom in life and relationships through his writing, and his depth of ability. "I’m all about making relatable soulful music that comes from the heart." Don’t mistake Taitano’s sound for whiny, sappy-type music though. Although the beats are on the ballad side, his lyrics have a healthy dose of street that keeps his sound edgy and his message with a bit of a bite, which is understandable from the road he’s traveled to get to this point. "I was born in Guam into a military family. We moved to Oklahoma and that’s where I fell in love with R & B music. Even though we traveled a lot, I connected with R & B and always will." Taitano’s track Game Over is a sizzling reminder that while romance is good, not everything goes as planned and sometimes tough choices have to be made. Game Over is one of the best examples of how a peanut butter-smooth dish can have a venomous bite. "I write everything from what I know and what I go through," Taitano says. "I was in love with this girl. I thought she was the one. We were together for awhile, talking about a future, marriage, kids, the whole nine yards. Next thing I know, she leaves me for another guy out of nowhere. She still thought she could get me back, so I told her through this song that the game was over." Taitano’s song writing uses simple words, but expresses a depth of feeling that young and old can relate to because it is so honest. "I’m not gonna use any difficult words or else there would be a lot of people who wouldn’t know what I’m talking about. I may use simple words, but its not about what you say, its about how you say it." Many artist spend years trying to find themselves in their music, Taitano doesn’t have that problem — he just needs an opportunity to get his skills showcased on a broader scale. "I’ve always performed at local spots," he says. "And every time people love it. And that’s really all I want. I know that if I get a chance to let people hear what I can do, they’ll love me." Taitano is currently working on a variety of projects and looking forward to big things this year. "Hopefully, this year will be a big one. I have to pay my dues and continue to work. My focus is establishing a growing fan base, doing that that I feel certain that my CD will be successful. Possibly better opportunities may present itself. I know it will take some time, but that’s my goal."
