Feels Like Home

originally recorded as a solo piano boogie, now with a whack of instruments added to sound like a country rock & blues band. With different instruments taking turns at solos, this one’s a pretty fun romp. 

instruments include piano, bass, rhythm guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, slide dobro, organ, drums (all instruments are electronic samples, except me playing piano live, and some bits on drums, organ, and harmonica)

There’s a blade of grass , stuck on my shoe
It weathered many storms 
And bathed in sunny hues
But it never saw the sun 
Like I saw it in your smile 
And it never saw a kiss so sweet
Like a gentle breeze 
‘till you moved your lips on mine ..   

Chorus:
It had lead a simple life 
‘Till I tracked it through your door
It was happy and content 
Now it’s torn in knowing more
For it never knew what people do
And that love can be so beautiful 
Like Yours and Mine

So that Blade of grass boarded a train
And it crossed a sunny border in the pouring rain
It had traveled all the world
Seeing splendour in all things
But the little grass would trade it all 
To be there with you .. 
It would be her only wish.

Now it’s resting on a shelf, 
By those worn and travelled shoes
And it longs to glide on wings,
In a journey back to you
To relive the dream ..  
Of Me and You
On a starry hill that’s made for two

There’s a blade of grass, next to my shoe
