Like many others burdened by the persistent lock-downs of 2020, Rupt deeply experienced the dismal and dreary atmosphere persistent in each day, made all the murkier with the frequent cold and rainy weather in France. Out of this dark and shadowy tenor developed “Muddy Mood”. Stylistically, Rupt channeled the idea of being trapped/locked in a loop, a loop that never seems to end -- indicative of the monotony and restrictions of the current global crisis. 

The track entertains the emotional idea and minimal concept of presence vs. emptiness while maintaining its dark and demonic theme. The minimal space creates ample room for creative remixes -- delivered in spades by fellow french artists RNDM., Probe (new project from psy producer Neuronod), and German producer mexCalito.

Muddy Mood EP is Rupt’s first release with Shadow Wulf Records. This will be RNDM.'s second release with Shadow Wulf, and both Probe and mexCalito's first.

Premiere: Rupt "Muddy Mood" (Mex Calito Remix) - Shadow Wulf Records

Next on ICONYC One welcome German techno queen Rachel Raw with her 'Pineapple EP'. With outstanding releases on labels like Stil vor Talent, Yoshitoshi and Jannowitz to name a few, she has risen to the top and developed a unique style in the process; known for her dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fit in any kind of club or open-air festival. The enigmatic Rachel has seen a rise to fame thru the regular output of quality productions.

To open the EP Rachel treats us to the spectacular title track 'Pineapple'. A thumping deep, minimal, melodic roller, fusing chord stabs with string ensembles and clinical percussion. The driving lead line of 'Pineapple' pared with Rachel's trademark beat manipulation culminates into a club inspired piece of house music for the ages. 'Pineapple' is an energetic piece of music to get you in the mood.

To close out his amazing two-tracker, Rachel teamed up with fellow German duo Krüger + Meyer to bring us 'Twiggle'; an irresistible monster techno track. The trio used deep and driving elements to perfection to create this floor burner. Rachel & the boys layer more percussions and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed drumming and their trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of this techno monster. Their work on 'Twiggle' deserves to be branded 'essential' for any techno loving music connoisseur.

Rachell Raw's debut on ICONYC One in collaboration with Krüger + Meyer is an accomplished piece of work that highlights, that she is a strong force to be reckoned with. With the talent on offer, ICONYC once again reaffirm their status as one of the leading lights in the underground. Rachel Raw's 'Pineapple EP' sees a worldwide release on May 14th, 2021 exclusively via ICONYC One & Beatport. Not to be missed!

For our 5th edition of AlpaKast we are proud to present this wonderful techno mix by APHE, a producer and DJ based in Germany.
This mix includes some tracks from our label and many other amazing productions from around the world, some produced by APHE himself.
APHE played a gig in Montreal for us in January 2020 and he absolutely smashed it.
A little while later, he released Montreal Madness EP on our label, a collaboration with his good friend Tim Taste. This EP, inspired by their trip to our home town, is one of our most popular releases and is played all over the world!!
