They simply called it “The Laboratory.” There were no windows — only the hum of life-support systems and aquariums filled with lifeforms that defied classification. On evenings like this, Spacelunch would tune the setup, Cat would yank out unnecessary cables with his tail, and everything would freeze in anticipation of the signal. A deep, steady mix filled the space, seeping into reservoirs, consoles, and whispering sensors. Something flared, something trembled — as if the environment itself was trying to synchronize with the rhythm. Later, a new chapter would appear in the Professor’s log: “Sample 93.”

Biography: 
Belgian born ZeroA is a former DJ, at that time juggling with dub influenced house, techno, triphop and On-U Sound material. Also contributing mixtapes for local radiostations. In recent times he's producing his own tracks, merging the ethereal charm of ambient music, the pulsating rhythms of dub techno, and the immersive qualities of cinematic soundscapes. Up till now his music was published through Crossfade Sounds, Velvet Dub Collective, Slope Point, Insectorama, spclnch and DubLucid. For our 9th mix of the series we turn the spotlight to one of our favourite labels of the last few years, Australia's finest - Primary [colours]

Primary Colours was founded in a pub over an IPA in 2012 (The Perfect place to form a label, in our opinion) and is the brainchild of Lance Harrison and Mark Baumann, aka Echo Inspectors. 

Over the last few years the label has gone from strength to strength and really carved out a unique sound amongst the Deep and Dub Techno Community. They showcase some of the top artists from around as well as bringing to the fore some of Australia's best talents. 

As with all our In:Focus mixes the challenge is to highlight the breadth and diversity of the label in question. It is by no means a 'greatest hits' and there is so much amazing music on this label that we didn't manage to include in this mix but we urge you to check out if you haven't already.
