On 21st September the rising French DJ/producer Simo Cell presents new mini album ‘YES.DJ’ – his first solo record since 2018 – released on his own label TEMƎT. A celebration of dance music culture, each of these heavy-duty, titanium-plated bangers are a tribute to different styles of beats, reinterpreted and suffused with his distinct personality.

The release also comes with a fanzine, which continues the celebration of DJing and dancefloors from a sideways perspective, curating photos taken by Simo of drinks tokens from clubs around the world.

For Maloca's 9th installment, Le Motel returns to his own imprint and joins forces with UK's versatile pidgin rap experimentalist Magugu. After their 2021 Shoalin collaboration, these 2 prolific artists embark on a new musical voyage. Their upcoming 4-track EP “Kindness Weakness” carefully intersects Bass, UK Garage, Grime and Jungle.

Magugu is a Nigerian poet who fluently unifies Afrobeat, Dancehall with Grime and Drum and Bass. While performing Magugu raps in Pidgin, which is an English-based creole language spoken in Nigeria. For more than a decade he's been making a name for himself as a Cardiff-based artist with a distinguishable raw voice. After numerous releases on his own imprint GUGUGANG Records, the Pidgin Rap Guru also released on cutting-edge labels like Deep Medi Musik and Critical Music and has worked with significant artists like My Nu Leng, Phase and Chad Dubz.

On Topper is a Jungle/Baile anthem about reaching goals in life, regardless of who steps in your way. Blend is about being an individual that doesn’t fit in with the crowd. Everyone should make their own decisions. Kindness Weakness refers to the fact that some people view kindness as a weakness. Yet everybody has had their share of dark moments too. The final track portrays the softer side of the duo's artistic versatility. A laid back UK Garage groove accompanied by Magugu's soothing voice. Let me down represents finding inner peace and creating your own happiness because in life there are too many people who will let you down. This one goes out to making a promise to yourself and never giving up.

Launched in 2020, Maloca Records aims to bring together an international network of artists. Maloca Vol. 1, featuring tracks by Nick León, OMAAR, DJ JM, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Coen, DJ N.K. and Tsongo. Maloca has also released solo EP's from Howie Lee, Farsight, Griffit Vigo, DJ JM and Yuto Takei.

As the orange sun falls below the tree line of the swamps of Maraketh, and outline of a small nestled village emerges from the shadows of the forests. The village emits a faint sound of singing, words floating with the wind. This could be the forgotten village of Wyrmwood. I was told as a boy this place was cursed by the same entities that dwelled in the swamps before humans were here. Darkness is too dangerous to go alone. I must seek shelter in these structures and hope i can stay hidden until dawn.

Flore - Coded Language

Hessle Audio welcome Laksa to the label with three tracks of rowdy and forward-thinking dance music, following his last release on Timedance in September.

On the A-side, ‘Fire Kit’ sees the London-based producer and DJ approaching his sound from a different direction, with dancehall infused percussion offset by enveloping layers of sub-bass warmth at 95bpm.
The B side jacks up the tempo with a raucous energy as the temperature drops to below freezing. Basslines rumble in ‘Belly Brocka’ and ‘T’s Tent’ like an approaching storm and snares lash through the mix like ice picks, with the broken rhythmic energy driving the dance forward in 2021 and beyond.

Running the club night and monthly NTS show ‘re:lax’ with re:ni, Laksa has been consistently pushing bass mutations since his early EPs on Beneath’s Mistry label. A Bristol bass bobbler at heart, his hybrid sound has found a home on many respected labels such as Timedance, Ilian Tape and Whities, cementing his place amongst the latest UK talent.
