A stone thrown, just to watch it fly. A projectile launched for the sole purpose of drawing a ballistic trajectory in the sky.
The Solens arc is what remains after the subtraction of the goal; a simple parabolic curve defined by gravity, impulse and starting angle. No target to hit, no catharsis to wait for, just the beauty of the flight.

The Arc as the purpose, in the form of four variations, constructed from disintegrated melodic textures and dismantled beats. Each sequences are assembled seamlessly into dense, evolving compositions, while keeping their autonomy, and their role in the global dramaturgy.

Pointillist serial loops morph into abrasive rave anthems, broken club rhythms are refitted into uneven patterns, like deconstructivist sound architectures. Industrial techno stompers dissolve into granular sound waves and filtered space pads, before being overtaken by cinematic drums and rising arpeggios.

Solens Arc is Kangding Ray’s fourth Album for raster-noton.

The tension between the natural and artificial, the body and mind, are central themes in electronic music in general, and Techno in particular, as the means of creation, focused around technology and interactions with machines, contrast with the emotional response to sound, the mystical ritual of collective dancing, and the ethos of liberation and tolerance embedded in the culture it produced.

We’re navigating a world of engineered pleasures, big data monitoring of movements and consumption habits, and falsely objective representations of reality, further blurred by a reduced attention span and several opaque layers of cultural interpretation and political manipulation.

Manichean simplifications are used to create hate and fear in order to achieve domination and impose limits on freedom, and the irrational belief in endless growth, increasingly disconnected from nature, led to massive environmental destructions and waves of unprecedented extinctions of species.

Our primal sensuous perception, vastly more abstract, emotional and sensual, make us feel the world as an ambiguous realm we are part of, but not in control of ; a complex network of interacting forces and enigmatic patterns, a matrix of overlapping desires. Rebuilding our bonds with nature, Reconnecting with our senses, and spreading love in the process becomes an essential act of resistance.

Hyper Opal Mantis is a triptych on 3 states of desire, and the first long player of Kangding Ray for Stroboscopic Artefacts.
HYPER is the primal, sensual lust, OPAL is the emotional catharsis, a blissful desire for love. MANTIS, like the insect it refers to, is the destructive, fatal attraction.

In quick succession to ARCS-03, which boasted remixes by The Mover, Shifted and Peder Mannerfelt, Cassegrain keep up the pressure with a new EP of originals on ARCS-04.

Returning to their tunnelling hypnotic trademark sound over three focused, club-ready trips, the Arcing Seas heads channel varied and irrepressible moods into each track. Built on solid dancefloor foundations and rich in colourful, non-conventional sound design, they scan through tribal ritualism with A side 'Shahmaran', moving to the pumping urgency of 'Caracal' and the rolling post-acid workout of 'Vulpine'.

ARCS-04 is a straight-up DJ-friendly 12'', something that's conveyed in the record’s more minimalist artwork. The sleeves have been hand-screen printed in Berlin by Alex from Cassegrain.

Polar Inertia examines the enigmatic and blurry realms, embracing the art of obscured vision.
Encountering the collective Polar Inertia is much like being absorbed by fog and captivated by
its ever-shifting forms and densities, with things being as indistinguishable as in a whiteout.

Formed in 2010 by a group of artists, Polar Inertia transcends visibility, delving into structures
that lie beyond the public gaze. Layers upon layers intertwine within the fabric of Polar Inertia,
extending beyond their profound electronic compositions and live performances. It manifests as a conceptual universe, where sound, monochrome aesthetics, and elusive narratives converge,
much like trying to grasp the intangible fog. The entity that is Polar Inertia is involved in
installations, print- and video work and texts created for different contexts and live in different
spheres such as Palais de Tokyo in Paris or the Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art. Still, clubs
and festivals are perfect spaces to experience these nebulous soundworlds and immerse in
them. Fittingly, some of Polar Inertia’s appearances include the colossal halls of Berghain and
Bassiani and at experimental festivals like Mutek Montreal and Atonal Berlin, that like to break
with the classic club conventions.

Polar Inertia's sonic landscape unfolds with wafting textures accompanied by resonating beats
and drones, reverberating through empty spaces, merging with the vast expanse of nothingness.
Their sound exists at the crossroads of ambient, experimental, and deep techno, interwoven
with vocal narratives. Since their inaugural release “Indirect Light“ on Dement3d Records in
2011, they remain a stronghold of relevance and captivation in the electronic domain.
