'Moving Around' isn't a suggestion, it's an order as Jordan goes old school with rolling bass momentum and a humungous riffy breakdown that will have you breaking out in goosebumps from head-to-toe.

The same can be said for 'Turn it Out'. Another Nocturne order, this one comes with full-flavoured Italo elements and widescreen synth funk. Armed and charmed with gutsy vocals, it's time to rock the house… And Jordan's got just the right materials. Get moving!

Alexander Dorn, better known as Credit 00, returns to Uncanny Valley to release his No More Sad Trance EP, a four tracker highlighting the artist’s musical extravaganza as well as love of experimentation when it comes to own productions and therefore consists out of a conglomerate of sounds and influences reaching from Jungle, Garage over to Trance and 90s Pop and more. Save The Forest!, the last track on the EP, shows signs of Trance-typical sounds with slight 90s nuances put over a lush bass line. Wobbling chords, slight Acid bleeps and short Break-esque round off the track making one musically dive into the rain forest as the before mentioned sounds create not only the atmosphere of it but also deliver an approach for a visualization of the scenery.

Many years later we bonded over high energy house and disco. I thought it was a nice touch to pay homage to those times, and there's another tip of the hat to Belfast party starters Ponyhawke who have carried the mantle for diverse and inclusive dancefloors in Belfast here in 2023.  The lead track is a collaboration with a Ukrainian artist, Ready in LED and it had Polari written all over it. Olya is a superstar and I’m very excited to be working with her.”

Ready in LED who has recently released on Polari herself, has made a stellar contribution to Jordan‘s forthcoming EP, she lends her extraordinary vocal prowess to the opening track, "Over & Over," infusing it with captivating strength. As the EP unfolds, "Yello" and "Ponyhawke" follow suit, as Jordan embarks on a playful journey of reinterpreting and paying homage to the rich legacy of Hi-NRG sounds.

Cormac says "aside from being an immense talent, Jordan is also a fellow Northern Irish man so it's an exceptional pleasure to release his music. I've rarely played a set in the last 2 years that hasn't featured one or more of his productions. This EP has taken some time to shape and it's been worth the wait. The lead track with Ready In LED has been a standout track for me for some time and the remaining two tracks are stand alone in and of themselves. It's fitting that Jordan has paid homage to queer Belfast nightlife in the track titles, an environment that has shaped our collective musical ears."

Dolly EP is a dance floor-ready journey that wears its heart on its sleeve. It adds yet another anthemic gem to Polari's already illustrious catalogue, reinforcing its status as a home for exquisite, feelings-forward releases.

The Queer Northern-Ireland born Cormac is back from another busy year as a label honcho and curator with the second Polari compilation No Tears In The Backroom Vol. 2 scheduled for release 31st of January 2024.

The compilation is filled with synth heavy swings, acid basslines, steamy vocals and lots of fun, making NTITB Vol. 2 the perfect entrance release into the new year.
Cormac says; No Tears In The Backroom Vol. 2 is a unique family with offerings from Polari hitmakers such as Jordan Nocturne, ROTCIV, & Louis de Tomaso as well as introducing new talent to the roster including DJ City,Nimmo, Shay Shaz, Hifi Sean, Joshua James + Xols.
I curate the compilation much as I do a DJ set, so there is a voyage of sorts in listening to the compilation as a whole.
I encourage the listener to listen as you would an album, although they of course work solo as well.

A 10-track long journey forms a unique force of anthemic sounds, tapping into nostalgia but never pulling away from today's references. No Tears In The Backroom Vol. 2 serves as a dance-heavy pursuit aiming to not hold back.

The label profits from the new compilation are going to charity. Polari has previously raised money for All Out.
Doctors Without Borders is a politically neutral Non-Governmental Organisation whose main objective is to treat people in regions of the world where they are most needed. They are currently most active in Gaza and have a further 70 projects active in the world.

Curated by Barcelona-based French artist Agle, Rewind It is an imprint focused on the past. Its output triggers a “nostalgic voyage through the era of silver screens, reel-to-reel tape recorders, and the timeless melodies that continue to resonate in our memories”. A feeling that can be tasted through its still small but growing catalogue which is soon welcoming a new addition: The very first volume of the “A Kind Of Disco” VA series presents four nostalgia-infused cuts made with love by none other than Bottin (SXDNS045), Albion Venables, Rotciv (SXDNS069), and the label honcho himself.

The prolific Mexican platform Nativo adds another treasury to its shelves of precious gems: Prince Terrible & Maligna Trash remixed (twice) by none other than master Roliva (SXDNS379), the label honcho himself.

With acclaimed works published on some of the most vital imprints of the Indie Dance/Dark Disco spectrum such as Dogs & Vultures, HEARec, Roam, NEIN, Controlla, Duro, and Nativo itself, just to name a few, Roliva is one of the most prominent artists of the scene not only because of his production capabilities, but also due to his vast creativity.

Prince Terrible, in turn, has been shaking the dark side of music with his energetic sonority and imposing personality. For his “Mano De Gloria”, he teamed up with Maligna Trash, a key figure in the Culiacán’s Drag circuit, to deliver a theme that “moves away from convention.”

Premiered here, the remix version brings the melodic and pondering original (released in September, 2023) to the peak-time realm, featuring a frenzied bassline and throbbing arpeggios seasoned with a naughty acid gait that paired perfectly with Maligna’s mesmerising vocals.

Headman/ Robi Insinna has done many remixes over the years aside from his Headman and Manhead projects and running Relish. He always liked reinterpreting classic tracks that inspired him or that he was a fan of. Ranging from the mid 70's to the early 80's, this album features a handful of classics Reworked. Roxy Music hails from an era that started shaping the late 70's avant-garde scene. it turns to Italo Disco classics like Klein M.B.O. and N.O.I.A., essential to the formation and inspiration for bands like New Order. Synth-Punk group The Units with the High Pressure Days Rework through to electronic-afro-funk of The Unknown Cases over to Swiss artist Stephan Eicher from Grauzone fame.
Reworks features tracks that are soft-spots for Robi, and have inspired him to produce his own music. He tries to keep as much of the original as possible, slightly updating and adapting to modern-day dance floors. The essence, intended to be kept alike and preserved.
A rework of Fred Ventura kicks off the album, it’s featured on the limited edition 7” Vinyl, originally produced by the Godfathers of Italo Disco, Turatti and Chieregato over 30 years ago. N.O.I.A.’s hit from the early 80’s is reworked to produce a tune that’s current to todays dance floors. One of John Peel’s favourites of 83’, The Unknown Cases sweeps in – the rework was released on Relish EP V Vinyl in 2014, an afro/cosmic treasure in Robis vinyl collection. Headman’s Dub of The Units follows; Robi first heard this on a Baldelli mix from the early 80’s, since then it’s become one of his favourite tracks. The Units were the corner stone of an unofficial movement, later called “synth punk” and which would come to define a greater west coast DIY culture combining new synthetic sounds. The next Rework is from Klein & M.B.O. “Dirty talk” fame. The anticipators of New Orders early 80’s sound.
RIS Remix dates from 2004, it was a classic Italo Disco hit that inspired and shaped the sound of Headman, Manhead and Relish. Gina X, and her 1979 release No G.D.M. gets a 2016 Headman rework. His first remix was released in 2003 on Gigolo. The second half also features a rework of Grauzone’s Stephan Eicher’s hit Nice. This was a very important rework for Robi, being a Swiss national and a big fan of Grauzone and Stephan Eicher. Swiss all girl punk band Kleenex wrote and performed Nice originally. The next release came out on Roxy Music’s 2006 Roxy Music Remix project album, Headman’s rework Dub was unreleased to this date, and is also featured on the very limited edition 7”, to be released in conjunction with the album. This mix was done with the most respect for the original sounds and instrumentals; to hear them all separated was exciting and at the same time a challenge. The album closes off with another reworked dub of State of Art, formed in 1981, an Italian New wave band out of Milan and the former Band of Fred Ventura.
