Für mein treuestes Groupie, wichtigste Kritikerin, motivierteste Tänzerin und beste Unterstützerin - meine einfach wundervollste Schwester!

Ohne sie gäbe es kueksen vielleicht gar nicht. Als ich 17 und partytechnisch jungfräulich war (abgesehen von EDM in schlechten, oberbayerischen Dorfdiskos), packte sie mich kurzerhand ein und lud mich mitten auf der Fusion wieder aus. Was soll ich sagen? Schon der Soundcheck der Triebwerke versetzte mich in Entzücken! Tiefe Bässe aus dicken Anlagen, verspielte Melodien aus allen Himmelsrichtungen und diese magische Stimmung – so ist damals das kueksen geschlüpft. 

Für diese Initialzündung und ihre treue Begleitung meines Weges seitdem, möchte ich mich nun einmal gründlichst bedanken! Daher diese Podcastreihe. #sistertapes halt....

For my most loyal groupie, most important critic, most motivated dancer and best supporter - my simply most wonderful sister!

Without her, kueksen might not even exist. When I was 17 and a party virgin (apart from EDM in bad, Upper Bavarian village discos), she unceremoniously packed me in and dropped me off again in the middle of Fusion. What can I say? Already the sound check of the soundsystems put me in delight! Deep basses from thick equipment, playful melodies from all directions and this magical atmosphere - that's how kueksen hatched back then.

For this initial spark and their faithful support of my way since then, I would like to thank now once thoroughly! Hence this podcast series. #sistertapes ....

About the location:
Wilhelmstein is an artificial island in lake Steinhuder Meer with an area of 12,500 square meters, located in the Hanover Region, Northern Germany.

Tone Depth already released a series of great and unique productions in 2018. When he sent this new track as a demo for fryhide originally, HOSH was completely blown away by it and couldn´t wait to play it out. On the plane, on the way to play a very important gig for him, he listened to the track while preparing and all of a sudden it made click and out of nowhere HOSH heard the „I Am Free” vocal from Johannes Brecht & Fetsum in his mind on top of the Tone Depth track. So he edited it right away, it became the highlight of his set and people started asking for it. A perfect match! After exchanging music with Solomun who fell in love with it as well he encouraged to release the „Free” version of the track on Diynamic with the vocal on top.

A chain of circumstances and everyone pulling together made this track possible and led to this very special version. Everyone involved is very emotionally attached to it, just as emotional as the track itself is.

es ist Samstag und schon wieder ist ein Monat vergangen. Heute habe ich eine waschechte Augsburgerin am Start, die schon seit geraumer Zeit Clubs und Festivals bespielt und mit ihrem unverkennbarem & groovigem Sound die Leute zum Tanzen bringt. - wie kam es dazu : Ich mir mal eine sogenannte bucket list gemacht, also Dinge die ich im Leben mal machen möchte, da hab ich drauf geschrieben, das ich einmal spielen möchte um zu wissen wie sich das anfühlt hinter den Decks. Zu meinem 33. Geburtstag hat ein Freund einen Gig für mich klar gemacht im Kater Kiosk quasi als Geburtstags Überraschung. Ich hatte da nur knapp 8 Wochen Zeit um mir das irgendwie selbst bei zu bringen. So hab ich mich jeden Tag an nen Mixer gestellt und hab probiert und geübt, hab Musik gesucht und hab sogar mir ein Notizbuch zugelegt und immer wenn ich dachte das Tracks gut zusammenpassen hab ich das notiert und mich quasi auf den Gig fast schon akademisch vorbereitet. Ich hab aber nicht gedacht dass ich nach diesem Gig irgendwie weitermachen würde. Hab nicht gedacht, dass ich da Chancen hätte. Doch irgendwie kam dann eins zum anderen und es kamen dann von verschiedenen Veranstaltern und Clubs Anfragen. Und ich hab mir gesagt, warum eigentlich nicht weitermachen, denn es macht mir einfach super viel Spaß und es ist für mich auf jeden Fall auch etwas was mich in meiner Entwicklung als Mensch viel gegeben hat und gibt.

Na bumm! Endlich mal wieder ne richtige, spulige Spezialität. Von ganz tief unten und schön langsam im Dampfgarer zubereitet, kredenzen uns die beiden heute besonders leckere Pelmenis und sorgen somit für ein Sättigungsgefühl der etwas anderen Art. 

Gefüllt mit den verschiedensten Zutaten, wird unser auditiver Cortex mit akustischen Reizen gefüttert, welche die Großhirnrinde in wellenförmiges Vibrieren versetzen. 

Einige Etagen tiefer macht sich das natürlich auch gleich mal bemerkbar und wir erwischen uns dabei, wie der ganze Körper vor sich hin wobbelt.

About this mix :
I would like to thank Cosmovision to make a set for them and for remaining patient with me over the last months whilst I have mostly been away from music. I always find making sets difficult as each one I want to be a unique experience and hopefully even a little different to anything else. I will always try to use loops and samples to emphasise this. Former Pro DJ and lifetime music lover. Used the SL1200's for years until finally moving into the 21st century with Traktor.
Always been a fan of live instruments and melodic rhythms, both electronic and natural. I play all kinds of house music, whether it be progressive, funky, latin, tech etc etc., but for the last couple of years I've been focussing on slowing things down (I think it comes with age!) and enjoying the music for what it is. Now I just play for fun, so no pressure and I just listen and appreciate.
Now getting into a little producing some nice edits and hope to bring out something totally original soon :)
