Disco Gecko series presents Framewerk and a dj set celebrating the release of their remixes of Banco de Gaia's Obsidian on the Capital Heaven label. Framewerk (aka Darren James and Alec Milliner) have been long establishing an eclectic electronic style that defies genres yet maintains a deep distinctive atmosphere throughout all their music. With influences ranging from 70’s prog rock to 80’s electro, the duo both found a home in the UK acid house scene of the late 80’s and later joined together to form the group “Manhattan” during the mid-90’s progressive house era. These decades of dedicated development and unrelenting passion have kept Darren and Alec continuously at the forefront of the underground electronic music scene. Their work today as “Framewerk” showcases their diverse styles and innate abilities to create and share music that represents the best of the golden eras with a fresh, modern sound all their own.

Cult DJs / producers Flying Mojito Bros have pressed a super-limited double compilation of their most celebrated releases to date plus an exclusive new track. A decade into his career, London-based, Doncaster born DJ and producer Mella Dee shows no signs of letting up. Bringing a strong work ethic to his creativity, Mella Dee (or Ryan Aitchison) is nothing but prolific. A steady stream of EPs and singles on labels including Saoirse’s trUst Recordings, Pete Tong’s Three Six Zero and his own Warehouse Music has seen the Yorkshireman move from glitchy techno to euphoric synth laden house to joyous peak-time anthems; all the while becoming a favourite at clubs around the world including Berlin’s Berghain, Barcelona’s Nitsa club, and Amnesia Ibiza and taking his All Night Long parties everywhere from the big room Telegraph Building in Belfast to the intimate Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh. A regular in the record bags of everyone from Saoirse, Midland and The Blessed Madonna, he’s also a DJ and producer who always has at least one foot on the dance floor. “Playing clubs all around the world and making different dance floors move has definitely improved me as a DJ and producer,” he says. “And if I’m not in the booth, I want to be on the dance floor. That’s what drives me. Making music that I want to hear on the dance floor”. HALO Afterparty Mix (Summer 2024)

This is a large portion of my 12 hour set at Stereo Montreal on September 28, 2024, my longest solo set ever. Missing are the first 2 hours, which I cut for better overall flow, as well as the last hour, which was not recorded as my recorder ran out of battery power.

To me, Stereo represents the absolute top of electronic music clubs worldwide. It is one of the few places that gives DJs the canvas to play long sets under near optimal conditions - an amazing sound system, great monitors, beautiful and subtle lighting and - last but not least - a knowledgeable, demanding and unified crowd.

01 Chillout Mix Part 1

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
