Here we have an exclusive full premiere of a great new track from Nikolas Noam called 'We Will Be Alright'. We've got hold of Luis Leon's 'Bipolar Rework' just for you, so we hope you enjoy it. 

We spoke to Luis Leon about the remix and here's what he said: "This is a new track I made for blankhaus after my last bootleg. Focusing on a different perspective with my music and fresh ideas for the label, I wanted to recreate that view in my own music as well, trying different stuff out of my comfort zone and to experiment with some freedom. This doesn't mean that I'm stuck now in some new trend or that my music should always be like this but I wanted to explore new atmospheres and contrasts. The original track is beatless and sounds like a soundtrack, so I wanted to make a rework that kept the main sensibilities of the original but with some groove for the dancers."

And groove it has in abundance! This is a fantastic remix and the ideal way to start off the new year...

Following several successful years as the electronic music DJ duo Samsara Brothers, Corey & Ryan Negrin began to explore their artistic creativity in the form of original songwriting and organic music production. Their stunning new endeavors, along with vocalist Sal Nastasi, have brought them to the emergence of a new paradigm : Wild Dark.

Wild Dark is an exploration of all that is organic and soulful within a framework of a refined, forward thinking sound that combines elements of house, techno, electronica and everything in between to create a truly fresh take on modern dance music.

Wir freuen uns riesig euch heute unsere Nummer 16 zu präsentieren. Und das von niemandem geringeres als Soul Button, den wir am 8. April im Bullitt Club, München zu Gast haben werden.

Interview:

How and when did you get into electronic music?

I think I was around 17 when I listened to Kraftwerk for the first time and I was completely shocked with the sounds they were producing. I then started to do some research and after some months, discovered that Roland was making one of its first drum machines. I convinced my father to buy one and started to make music. Over the first year, I was only programming drums... no bass lines, no synths, only drums. Keep in mind there were no computers back then either. I then bought a sampler AKAI 900 months later and I produced my first techno vinyl at the age of 19. That was almost 20 years ago now. :)

Which musical moments have been especially memorable to you? 

For sure when I was very young, around 18, during the periods when I started creating my first techno live sets for illegal rave parties. I’m talking about free parties, it meant I was playing in front of 2-3 thousand people sometimes. Nice memories … 

Which plans do you have for the future with Steyoyoke?

Personally my goal is to release an album, but I don't think this will happen for a while, because I don’t have so much free time to stay in studio at the moment. Between my label office work and gigs, it keeps me very busy, but an album is definitely on the cards for the future. 

In regards to Steyoyoke, there aren't any really big plans. We just want to keep releasing good quality music with strong artistic concepts. All the artists are becoming more and more mature and the sound is evolving more and more, in its own unique way. I guess this is the key and my biggest goal.

If you could choose to play at any venue in the world, which place would it be?

Definitely at Warung in Brazil. I think it’s one of the most beautiful clubs and somewhere where I would love to play.

For podcast number 24 we bring it down a notch to bring you the slo-mo groove of the underground. 40 Thieves is a San Francisco based dance music collective consisting of Corey Black, Layne Fox and Jay WIlliams (aka Jaswho?) who has been creating their magic since 2005. You might know know their remake of the obscure 70's disco classic by Hot Chocolate, 'Don't Turn It Off (feat. Qzen), which was named #2 in 2009's track of the year by DJHistory.com, and also landed at the top of Beatport's best of the decade in 2010. Their musical output can range from psychedelic disco and blues to proto-house, acid and beyond, but regardless of the genre, a 40 Thieves track is always embedded with enough funk, groove and sex appeal to keep the most stubborn dancefloor moving along. We were lucky enough to secure a rare mix from Layne Fox who, under his new moniker Musik Nonstop, will represent the Thieves' on his debut Mexican tour (and if you're Down Under, don't forget to catch Corey Black on his debut Australian tour later this month). Don’t play too loud: This mix will induce involuntary dancing to anyone within a mile radius of it...

Meeting in 2008, the two DJs -- both called Adrian, by the way -- fused and morphed into a bigger better self, behind the decks, and in the studio. Their EP on OFF Records, produced with label stable mate Thyladomid, was an instant winner, and their releases, on labels such as their mothership Diynamic, 2DYI4, Wolf+Lamb Black, Cityfox and Culprit LA always reflect their solemn love for emotional house music. Opening new horizons by discovering their differences and overcoming them, the self-proclaimed brothers share almost everything, but also manage to maintain a healthy distance, something that can be felt on the dancefloor. Their set for Meoko overflows with vocal packed songs, and extroverted glam combined with a down-to-earth friskiness. Right into your heart.
