Our next edition has been crafted by none other than über sleek selector Eric Cloutier, who you will all recognize as he is popping to the Big Smoke with us for our debut London showcase!

This mix shows a different side to our podcast series as we take things super deep. Taking you on a journey to the outer realms of the space-time continuum, Cloutier touches down with some of the most intelligent techno all interwoven into a seriously classy electronic tapestry. Hypnotic would be an understatement.

We’re excited to present a new contribution to our podcast series today: Focal. 02 by Unclear.  
Unclear (full name Paolo Bianco) is a an artist from Bari, Italy who’se been passionate about hypnotic techno for many years. Other than dj’ing and producing with his solo project, he’s a part of The Alchemical Theory and the owner of Cultural Corner.
 Unclear’s provided a mix focused on dreamy, soothing hypnotics which occasionally features obscure, dark elements. His refreshing track selection and the consistent storytelling throughout the mix prove his knowledge and experience of hypnotic techno!

テクノを基調とし、ディープな選曲からボディミュージックに至るまで自在に操りフロアをロックするスタイルが特徴。
2022年より翠月唯一のレギュラーテクノパーティーとして隔月で〈AFTER LIFE〉を主宰している。

ーーこのミックスはどちらで収録したものですか？
レジデントDJとブッキングを務めている渋谷のクラブ・翠月(MITSUKI)で収録しました。

 ーーコンセプトがあれば教えてください。
今回は浮遊感をテーマにしています。ディープな音数の少ないパートから始まり、エクスペリメンタル感を混ぜながら徐々に攻めつつ、ハウシーな気持ち良さを加えています。今の自分が好きなものを詰め込んだミックスです!

 ーー最近の活動を教えてください。
 「PYRO」と「AFTER LIFE」というパーティーを毎月交互に開催しています。 「AFTER LIFE」は翠月で開催し、前回はLena Willikensを招聘して2日間にわたり東京公演をサポートしました。とんでもないDJでした(笑)。今年の7月には「rural」の出演が決定しており、日々の現場を一つ一つ大切にしながら準備していきたいと思っています。

Lockdown seemed like the perfect time to start our new mix series, so here we are with the very first edition. Our good friend @Doppelate has come through with a typically excellent mix, perfect for upping the spirits and keeping the pleasant times rolling during Quarantine. Channelling his effervescent powers concocted through hard-earned affiliations with Cong Burn/X-Kalay/Gestalt Records/Haŵs and so on, he's put together an unreal selection of raucous good fun incarnate.

Breathecast 001 ~ Doppelate

Born in Ploiesti, Romania, on the cusp of the Romanian Revolution, @andusimion’s artistic vision, which encompasses both music and photography, is shaped by the grey blocks of his childhood neighbourhood, industrialisation, and the remnants of a communist era that was receding just as he was arriving in the world. Influenced by the Romanian minimal movement, he has crafted his own distinctive talent for crafting deep, acid-infused journeys.

With releases on Atipic, Insound Recordings, Particular, Palinoia, Stela Music and Polen, Simion is also one third of @Lisiere-Collectif, which he founded with Bogdan Ardeleanu and Dan Gheorghe.

His Patterns of Perception 64 emerges from the aftermath of the sudden loss of his father some weeks ago. The intensity and energy of this set is marked by turmoil and introspection, with higher BPMs and more aggressive mixes reflective of the grief he has been facing. Simion has had this selection of music on repeat since his father’s passing, using its energy to carry him forwards and out into the sunlight again.

As we edge painstakingly closer to the subterfuge of normality, our mix series continues to ease you into the obscurity of reality. 

Volume 004 of the Breathecast brings DRED and TANSTAAFL Records frontman John Osborn into the fold for a transcendental brain-dance concoction that slots seamlessly into the chasm of epic afterhour exploration. John has garnered a reputation for being one of the most meticulous selectors in the game, sculpting his sound via time spent in Berlin institutions like Tresor, Cookies, Panorama Bar and at the Sub:stance parties at Berghain.

A master of mesmerizing, emotive passages, he is known for his careful consideration, patient execution, and sublime selections. As co-founder of the now-defunct MNML SSGS blog and event series and a resident at the semi-regular Sound Garden chill out parties, he has spread his infectious love for boundless forms of music far and wide, reaching audiences across the globe. After hearing his acclaimed mixes for podcasts such as Electronic Exploration and Mysteries of the Deep, we are ecstatic to have him contribute to UNRUSH.
