The organic architectural style of Art Nouveau is a thing of the past century which you will soon forget ever existed. Whereas the Art Nouveau (FR) of the present builds an equally organic universe around the Air France / Souk EP, it is rather the kind of organic vibe that you could experience from a klezmer band at a bar mitzvah or a mariachi band at Cinqo de Mayo, yet armored with a punchiness that in the latter case would crack the piñata wide open at the drop of the first beat.
Air France takes you on an airy melodic flight with a pleasant rhythmic tropical turbulence that will leave seats empty and all passengers in an upright position for the duration of the flight.
Air France is remixed by the mythical reims duo Gucci Vump consisting of none other than Brodinski and Guillaume from The Shoes. Gucci Vump became a household name on the house scene after their first track "Sha Stihl" was released on Sound Pellegrino. On this remix they seem to be reminding us specifically of the South American Air France routes with an added electro feel in the carry on luggage. 
Air France is also sequelled in collaboration with LOL Boys (US/CAN) as Air France II. This version has melodic references to the Nervous Records sound of the early 90's but outlined with the sharpness and punchiness of 2011.
Souk is like a thousand balkan parties boiled in to one highly concentrated bouillon cube. Be sure to be aware of the forces you are messing with when you put this thing on Souk is remixed by Sunnybeach Happyslap Mardigras. The Danish trio who released they debut EP Conta / Mamacita on Demento Mori last year. In this cut up version of Souk it becomes readily apparent that these cats invested huge chunks of their allowances on 12"s produced by DJ Premier back in the 90's. A sharp cut-up bouncy grove for the oldschool heads as well as the youngsters.

Boys Noize & Erol Alkan ‘Avalanche (Terminal Velocity)’ features vocals by Jarvis Cocker, out now on Phantasy

Once again, Erol Alkan and Boys Noize have teamed up, for what has become a stunning re-imagining of last years smash single ‘Avalanche’.. Determined to avoid a taking an obvious route, the pair originally intended to commission a spoken word interpretation- the natural choice was the mellifluous Jarvis Cocker.

Throwing his creative muscle behind the project, it was Jarvis’s inspired choice for him to recite the seminal lyrics of Leonard Cohen’s song of the same name… A handwritten letter and CDR were dispatched to Mr Cohen, who very quickly gave his full and delighted support to the project.

All that was left was for Jarvis to add his distinctive twist to the title, in the form of ‘Avalanche (Terminal Velocity)’ despite this unlikely paring of minds the finished work sees the sonorous tones of Mr Cocker riding the megalithic slabs of fizzing synthesis and piston-ing drums with aplomb to mesmeric effect.

On the remix tip the duo enlist the true underground maestro himself Ewan Pearson, who supplies not one, but two different flavours of rerub – the ‘Hall Of The Mountain King Remix’ mix takes the original on a warped acid redux via Chicago, while the ‘Deeper Underground Re-Version’ reroutes proceedings to dubbed out Berlin basement after hours to stunning effect. Not to be out done, hot new talent Canblaster interprets the original as a low-slung bleeptastic old-school electro workout, recalling the early works of Warp, that rounds the package off in glorious style.
